GaryPinC Posted September 8 Posted September 8 One of the biggest problems was their O-line seemed to get to the second level at will. Hopefully Hoecht and Ogunjobi help correct this. I was also overall impressed with Bosa's pass rush. Definitely collapsed a lot of pockets last night and thought I saw him being double-teamed at times in the second half. Very disappointed with Rapp, I don't think he's cerebral enough to lead that tandem and both of them suck at anticipating. I think you push Hancock in every way possible, as he showed some instincts and anticipation in preseason, then work him in with even a modicum of comfort level. I just don't think Bishop and Rapp are complementary enough. I think coaches need to find someone else to pair out there. 1 1 Quote

Only concern is both being so green and biting on fakes or being out of place. 1 Quote
Carmel Corn Posted September 8 Posted September 8 Our safeties are still the Achilles heel on D. I fully expect Rapp and possibly Bishop to get hurt along the way, forcing someone like Hamlin to start…..which IMHO is even worse. GM Beane needs to assume their will be injuries and bring in somebody new now….so that they can learn the system and be ready to go when somebody gets hurt. 1 Quote

If he has the instincts, I think he will learn very quickly from his mistakes, much quicker than Bishop. Sean may have to live with mistakes to get the tandem ready for playoffs. Him and Beane dug this hole. Find a ladder out. 1 Quote

LABILLBACKER Posted September 8 Posted September 8 I'm willing to be a little vulnerable on deep throws if it means shoring up the run D. Go get Peppers and rotate Poyer on some snaps with Rapp. Bishop is still a huge work in progress. I don't wanna see Hamlin touch the field unless there's an injury. Quote
paulmm3 Posted September 8 Posted September 8 I agree Rapp was bad and Bishop also bad but maybe a step above Rapp yesterday. The linebackers were at least as big a problem as a position group for me last night though. Brutal linebacking save for one or two nice stops by Milano. 1 Quote

I doubt we will face a team as good as them, on both sides of the ball, for the rest of the regular season. Thats great and all, but we’ll probably see them again in the Playoffs. Cant just hope they choke every time. Quote

Then let one of our current starters be the backup (or rotate in). IMO, GM Beane need to assume this could be the year. Odds to win it all (via increased odds of number 1 seed) just increased. Work on the weak link in a big way. Quote
Rockinon Posted September 8 Posted September 8 The safeties need to communicate a lot on the field to make sure everyone knows where to be. What their assignment is and that of the other DBs. I think the dual threat QB and Henry was giving them fits. Then just when you think you have to crash down to stop the run, Lamar would pass. Tough assignment for them. They have a lot of tape to watch. I'm sure they are all ready thinking of ways to improve. I think a little time to work things out is warranted... 1 Quote

I hear they’re on Amazon Prime. 12 minutes ago, SCBills said: Thats great and all, but we’ll probably see them again in the Playoffs. Cant just hope they choke every time. Big Blitz Posted September 8 Posted September 8 All I see is TB get blown up and Henry is off to the races no stopping that. 1 Quote

oldmanfan Posted September 8 Posted September 8 If I was going to make any change right now I’d consider Lewis for Rapp 1 Quote
Warriorspikes51 Posted September 8 Author Posted September 8 I'd love to throw Hancock in to start. Early in the season is a good time to see what we have there Quote

We're not talking next year. Coleman looked good yesterday but wasn't ready last year and they went and got a WR and let the young guy develop. I don't know the trade candidates yet but would bet just like WRs last year, they will be out there. As for Free Agents I see Justin Simmons, and Jabrill Peppers was rumored earlier. Quote

There’s a reason Simmons hasn’t played in over a year, and why Peppers got cut by Vrabel. And it’s easy to just say we can trade for a stud safety without any clue whether anyone is available. Quote
Warriorspikes51 Posted September 8 Author Posted September 8 If Strong locks down CB2.....could we consider Tre White playing centerfield? Quote
