If this is the case, Lamar needs to be suspended. Let's write a petition: Suspend Lamar.

The fan should sue him too, for big money.

Buh Bye Lame Mar!

I kid... I kid...

Lamar should be suspended. The league should put out a memo to avoid contact and interaction at opposing stadiums

If anyone hates themselves this watches that European footsie game cross country kickball that the kids play than they can attest. You'd never see one of those players go near the fans and for good reason. The fans are usually fine but one wrong person or clown will cause more harm than any good can come of it

Hopkins was a moron for going into the crowd like this for attention, affirmation, or general disruption. Lamar was even worse for reacting.

The bigger man is not the one who taunts or is aggressive. It is the one who always able to control themselves with restraint.

If I was DHop and Lamar, I’d file charges, just inexcusable to put your hands on players. This dude is a 💩 stain on the Mafia. We are not the Iggles fan base, and this getting replayed over and over nationally is an embarrassment to the legions of Bills fan who have done so many great things for those in need.

If they went into the crowd I could see this point a little more but the kid leaned over the wall to smack them in the head…it was ridiculous.  Idk how no other fans pulled him away…no idea if his parents were there or not

I blame everyone involved... Ravens players getting cocky taunting Bills fans... I dunno thats a bit classless and reminiscent of the Dolphins players (Louis Olver and Bryan Cox for starters) like not sure why they feel its ok to do that...  BUT... there is literally no excuse and I dont care what was "said" for a fan to touch a player with any other intent then they are high 5ing or whatever... this dou%he needs to be banned and if there is a way to arrest him do it.... he is an embarrassment...  as for Lamar, he is also wrong, like he said himself, he needed to walk away and let security handle it...  no good can come from assaulting customers... no matter how wrong they are with one exception, the idiot who jumped over the boards in Quebec and picked a fight with Rob Ray... I fully supported that assault LOL...  anyways, Lamar knows it... and to be honest I would like to think I would have acted properly there... but in the heat of that moment... I am not sure I dont do the same thing... so I dont wanna preach.

Nah, that's part of the game.

Why do fans see it as it not being OK for players to taunt the fans when the fans do it to them all the time?

You can yell and taunt all you want from either side...but you can't initiate contact like that from either side either. The Bills fan in this case was totally in the wrong. As others have said, if Lamar had punched him in the face, he would've IMO been well within reason.

You're not supposed to feed the animals at the zoo either😉

Hopefully that "fan" didn't leave the game early like so many other idiots.

What’s wrong with leaving early?

People have commitments that they can’t be at the night game to the end.

I mean, if I’m paying for seasons, I can do whatever I want…right?

Yes, of course you can but I don't understand it.

We pay inflated ticket prices, spend a crazy amount of time tailgating/tailgate prepping. Might as well stay til the end.

The NFL has bizarre/unexpected comebacks every week, this week it happened here.

I get it.

Wife and I are a bit older, she gets cold easy. So leaving for her isn’t an issue with me.  Me? Fighting traffic and pedestrians has gotten old for me. So leaving early is fine.

This is a once in a a century game…no clue by ANYONE this is how it would end. A lot of people left early…as people do EVERY game.

I had a great time in the lot..met a lot of cool people. Enjoyed the time I had with the group around my seats.

All good by me. Got home and watched the end and was able to see exactly what happened versus being in the stands.

Again…I paid for the tix. Got to the game early and waited on traffic for an hour to park my car. Enjoyed the heck out of grilling my wings and beers.

I was the guy that watched abysmal teams and sat in the lot until everyone else left. Our group would be kicked out by the Sheriffs on horses.  So…whatever bro.

Well I'm 62, saw the dark ages also. Only left early twice since 1972.

Ok. That’s you.

Just tough you called others “idiots” when you don’t know their situation.

Happy for you.  I’ll leave it at that.

They did go into the crowd. Well, he did.

The kid was wrong, stupid, and deserves punishment.

Hopkins laughed it off, likely realizing he got what he deserved to taunt someone. Actions have consequences. Gonna run your mouth, don't be afraid to get popped.

Lamar got triggered and baited to react.  If he tries to sue or something it would just get him a bigger target on his back

Regardless, dumb kids doing dumb things is why you don't put yourself in that position. Why you do not walk down a street alone in a strange neighborhood, why you don't leave your car running when you run inside for smokes, why you don't go around a bunch of random kids along a stadium to taunt them.

glad the Bills handle this right.

I support this. Can we keep lists?  Peterman isn't at the top of my list, but maybe billy joe hobert

Excusing a player putting hands on a fan is wild stuff

Security is there to handle issues, and that's what should've happened

Telling players it's ok to put hands on fans is probably not what the league wants

Not even mentioning what caused that to happen and twisting my words is even wilder stuff. You act as though I said players should be able to beat up fans whenever they want without provocation 🙄

Look at the video. The fan was reaching over the barrier to shove multiple players, multiple times. As a player, you don't know if he could have escalated from there. You don't know if he could have possibly had something on him.

He was shoved back into his seat. That's a nothing burger. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Look at the reaction from the Bills, the League, and just general response from fans and TV hosts. The fan was 1000% in the wrong and no one is coming down on Lamar about it.

Except for the occasional random Bills fan who just hates Lamar and got excited that maybe he'd get in trouble for it...

You know for a fact if the shoe was on the other shoe and it were in Baltimore, a Ravens fan had done that to Dawson Knox and Josh Allen, and Josh responded the same way - not a one person would be up in arms about it and saying Josh was out of line.

Correct.

Is it any different than leaving if the Bills are up by 15 late in the game? Are you less of a fan for leaving if you’d like to get home for whatever reason you have?

I don’t think so.

I sat on my couch and watched the game. I didn’t even go to the game. The people that left at least bought a ticket and went.

The idiot fan who slapped Hopkins on the helmet and shoved Lamar Jackson has been suspended indefinitely from NFL stadiums. Hopefully he is suspended for life! Fans have no right putting their hands on players. IMO, Lamar shouldn’t face any consequences for shoving the fan back.
