Why does anyone reference this hack?  His medical opinions are consistently awful, but this isn’t even a medical opinion.  This is him trying to parse Beane’s language in order to draw conclusions regarding White’s health for internet clout.  He’s basically the Jerry Springer of sports medicine.

We can pretty much rule out a torn Achilles or ACL.  That probably means a sprain of some kind, ankle or knee, which could mean anywhere from a couple weeks to 6 weeks to get healthy.  At the upper end of that range, we'd be looking at IR, returning to the active roster after 4 weeks or so.  It's not the end of the world, but could leave the defense scrambling to try and contain Baltimore's passing game.  Coincidentally, Baltimore also looks to be missing a starting CB in the season opener.

Which ravens starting corner might miss week 1?

Not signing another veteran even before White was hurt was silly. Now with White hurt not bringing in Douglas or another vet is ego and hubris that will cost the team.

The secondary is a frickin mess bordering on season destroying disaster right now. Time to stop messing around and use some draft picks to fix it.

they may not want to sign a vet and have to guarantee the money if they are on the roster week 1.  Maybe the tuesday after week 1 they sign a veteran?

Yeah that is not a bad idea.

Obviously Hairston getting hurt messes everything up. But he wasnt even beating out White in camp. Safety and CB is an absolute disaster right now. It’s not alarmist when it is true. Bills are possibly going to start two guys in White and Hamlin that wouldnt even make most NFL rosters.

Bishop and Rapp will be starting at Safety.

AND I strongly disagree that White or Hamlin wouldn’t make most NFL rosters.

I don't look at as ego or hubris. Douglas is toast. Not only is he toast, he's been on a couch all off-season. I think they feel more comfortable with Dane Jackson, Dorian Strong, and Ja'Marcus Ingram alongside Benford than they would him.

And outside of Douglas, this regime doesn't trust someone to come off the couch and get the Defense down in time. This isn't a plug and play system or staff. It's always been scheme familiarity over pure talent.

So Douglas is the only realistic option I see in their eyes and I think they feel better off with the depth we have on hand - until Max and/or Tre are back. Which won't be that long.

we have no idea what they think of the countless corners who are going to get cut in the next 72 hours though.

there could be a number of guys they have their eye on who are bubble guys elsewhere.

if tre white was healthy enough to play week 1 though it sure seems like they would have been telling everyone that tonight

because they love to tell everyone good news and sure get quiet about bad news.

I'd put Alexander, Strong, or Hollis Jr on the field and live with the growing pains before I'd start Dane or Hardy.  I'd put Codrington the wouldn't roster group but being the KR give him some wiggle room.

I would believe it when I see it that the Bills would prefer a cutdown CB from another team over their in house guys. Like I said, McDermott values familiarity in his complicated Secondary scheme way more than he does an upgrade in talent. And I don't think there's going to be any Superstars cut from other teams at CB.

well who knows what they think of some of these guys and with a new secondary/nickel coach in Mike Pellegrino maybe someone gets cut he knows who can be an improvement...for example.

just like think the rasul douglas thing is really far fetched.

As always, if you’re going to call the team cursed, you must reveal what you’ve done to counter the curse: i.e. purifying bath, mantra/holy water, cleansing ritual, talisman/amulet, etc.

I have repeatedly suggested shooting Billy Buffalo from a moving train, but apparently this would create some sort of legal problem for the team.

Idk why people keep bringing up Hardy. He's a Nickel CB. Not a Boundary guy.

His name has been brought up by posters and in tweets so often that I found myself thinking "has he been playing on the Outside and I just haven't noticed?", looked for him today, and no - he just plays the Nickel.

As for the initial point, Jackson started today and made some good plays. Like Hamlin with some posters, you can wish and hope for literally anyone else - it doesn't matter. McDermott has faith in him and he'll be on the initial 53. If White isn't ready Week 1, he'll likely get the call opposite Benford.

I wouldn't have mentioned Hardy either but he was playing outside today or at the very least he started the game playing outside.  I already mentioned in another post that I didn't know what he was doing out there.
