It's not like Lane Johnson was an 85 grade rookie.. he barely had a better grade than Spencer Brown his rookie year and is coming off a back injury

 

And pff is still subjective.. they don't know blocking assignments and they're not foolproof 

 

I'd still rather use my eyes and my eyes shows Spencer Brown has been drastically improving for a while

I do really like keons potential and his athletic traits 

 

I think he's with a good staff and QB who can bring him along and I think he will be a solid receiver and if he can get 7-8 TDs that would be huge

Spencer Brown didn't just improve - he did a complete 180. 

 

 

 

 

I don't think he was ever the worst.    RAS isn't the be-all end-all but being #1 over a 25 year period implied the upside was high.

But point taken. I was a bit harsh on the kid. Let’s see what he can do this year. Solid WR2 is a big piece of the puzzle we need. So let’s hope he hits that in a 17 game season 👍

As for @Einstein claim about it being very rare for a RT to make huge improvement............I totally disagree with that.    Most RT's don't have LT feet.   They gotta' learn to work with what they have.   Lot's of them struggle early and become much better.

Yes I was exaggerating when I stated everyone wants him gone.  But there were certainly a number of threads about him and seemed as soon as one thread would fall off the first page or so, a new one would start up.  The point is still valid in that a large number of posters think their evaluation of a player after one or two years is gospel and they are smarter about these things than the people who do this for a living. 

 

This isn't about criticism, this is about people who here all think they are the smartest guy in the room when in reality we're all pretty stupid about these things, but some will go to great lengths to prove they are right.

 

And yes I totally agree with you about half of first round picks don't get a 2nd contract so if you claim every player sucks, you'd be right much more than being wrong.  So it's easy to look smart and say this play won't succeed.  Does that mean the front office folks are dumber than the posters here.  And if they don't know, then how can anyone here know more?

Probably. He'd look better if we moved him around but we won't because we need an x and have lots of guys who should be featured in the slot. Keon needs to become a master of his craft to reach full potential which might take years. Until then, he's just a guy who struggles to gain separation from the other guy.
