It’ll sell better than your side’s argument that people should pay more for less choice at the store. Straight out of the USSR playbook. Again, if you were so damn worried about the deficit, you wouldn’t be supporting a bill that adds to it as much as this bill does. It’s the same as any GOP president.
Big Blitz Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago The only voters Ds have left I absolutely want them to run on raising their taxes!

Doc Brown Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago All they really needed to do was extend the TCJA and defund some of Biden's big spending ineffective programs. However, they took care of their SALT buddies. Now a guy working as a car mechanic in Alabama can subsidize a doctor in NY making $450k a year. No taxes on tips and no taxes on overtime means that workers who don't work for tips or are offered overtime can subsidize those who do. Now the bill will pass and fiscal conservatives will raise their hands in the air and say "well, we had to make concessions to make it through because of the slim majority." Basically, business as usual. That's fine but let's not pretend Trump isn't part of the establishment when this bill goes through.
The Frankish Reich Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago 2 hours ago, Big Blitz said: Not true in the least. You can’t have it both ways. Complain about DOGE being this threat to the bureaucracy and the deep state - then say it was always a fraud. The frauds are the Dems and media that vilified it. We don’t have the votes - thanks to Democrats and low info Americans - to make the cuts and reforms necessary to make significant dents in the debt. It’s just a fact. So for now it will need to be incremental. DOGE is just the start. Americans in future elections are going to be asked - what are we doing about the debt? The Democrat response will be more taxes and magic. DOGE was amazingly ... inefficient. Look at the proposed defense budget. Remember when Elon said "Defense is next." Umm, right. Do we have any idea what the Golden Dome will cost when all is said and done? Whether it is considered a vital defense interest? Whether it is actually workable with current technology? And that's just the biggest one of many, many others.

We’re putting coal in the boiler and setting a course for the iceberg,” he warned. Your so ignorant you have forgotten a very old and true saying "A penny saved is a penny earned" you have to start some where and IMHO anything that the gov't can potentially save is a good thing ! But you don't think that way you are of the thought pattern spend, spend, spend on those entitlements because this is America which makes you part of the problem because you won't except any real change just the fake kind others have preached about in the past . Then to say to " increase funding for sadistic nonsense like ICE" bot now there's a comment of a true patriot ! Just flood the country with illegals so I can sit on my ass and not have to do physical labor and allow all Americans to pay for their free housing, health care, schooling, alternative printing of everything because they won't learn English .. BRILLIANT !!!

Before yielding, the congressman sniped at his Republican colleagues hoping to push the bill through while America slept: “If something is beautiful, you don’t do it after midnight.” This is exactly correct and its been the case since Nixon's executive order eliminated the convertibility of the dollar into gold. And every administration since then has been on a quest to increase the national debt. Now about $36 Trillion. I saw numbers that speculated this bill will add $5 trillion to that figure. Something's got to give and its going to be the US dollar. Where I disagree with Massie is I believe we're a lot closer to the day of reckoning than he suggests. Trump's approach while politically different leads to the same result as Biden. We can argue politics all we want and blame one party or the other but in my view its merely a cleanest pig in the mud hole debate. 1

We can absolutely lower the debt by deporting those here illegally leeching off government welfare programs and using our hospitals and clinics free of charge. The sad thing is.. all the Medicare For All people refuse to accept the reality that stronger borders and stronger immigration enforcement would allow us to have a better functioning, more cost effective, healthcare system. Bernie Sanders used to believe this until the Democrat machine beat it out of him.

They don’t sit around watching TV all day long. “Securing the border” would have very little effect on healthcare.

How much do we save now that the open border is secured? Over 11 States provide undocumented access to health insurance and numerous other programs. That the federal government indirectly funds. 1

So a bill that lowers taxes for the wealthy, cuts services for the sick and hungry…and raises taxes on you (tariffs)….and adds trillions to the deficit that increases borrowing costs for everyone….This is the best solution? How? I dunno…how about raising taxes on the rich, closing loopholes on hedge fund managers, creating a bipartisan effort to figure out why we spend 2x on healthcare compared with the rest of the modern world…with worse results…A genuine effort to improve government…and set a goal to balance the budget in 10 years. The ONLY goal of this house effort was to smoke screen the math with fake cuts and tariff revenue to extend tax rates
