Draconator Posted May 6 Posted May 6 As many of you know, I am a big time Rush fan. But eee gods! What were they thinking with this! And Geddy's hair! 2 1 Quote
Doc Posted May 6 Posted May 6 That was close to the beginning of MTV, when they were trying to come up with ground breaking videos. So yeah, I get it. By the way, is that Aimee Mann (‘til Tuesday lead singer, singing the chorus) behind the camera? Quote
Another Fan Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Sadly this feels like a retro topic these days! This is still a real good song but this music video is cheesy and awful Quote
Gregg Posted May 6 Posted May 6 I remember during the MTV days in the early 80's the Flock of Seagulls I-RAN video was pretty cheesy. Quote

Neil threw a wrench into a lot of creative license for video directors as he refused to be a part of any music video unless he was actually playing drums in it. But yes, this one is cringe. 1 Quote
The Jokeman Posted May 6 Posted May 6 I'm not sure if it's dumb or just obscure what it's trying to say .. Quote
US Egg Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Upon first couple viewings thought it idiotic, after a few more, awesome. Would crank it. Ex hated it. Was served separation papers not long after. Coincidence? Quote

The last official videos the band actually participated in was Test For Echo in 1996 I believe. Half The World and Driven. Edited May 6 by BillsFanNC Quote

They did still camera shots. But you can clearly make out each member. Quote

But that's like saying Josh Allen was actually at your birthday party if someone brought a life size Josh cutout. I guess I should have been more clear in my original statement as Neil never liked the idea of making music videos from the beginning. However the one thing that he would not compromise is that if he had to be physically present and involved in the making of a Rush music video he wouldn't do it unless he was actually playing the drums. Unless the director really screwed the pooch on a good song. this song for me is trying too hard. I don't like it so the video either. all glitz no substance I'll try to find a bad video to a good song and post it 🙂 m Quote

That being said, I give videos like these credit for being entertaining. I think the worst videos are of the bands/musicians playing one of their songs in front of a LIVE audience. What's so creative about that? Quote
Another Fan Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Gorgeous full figured woman (great butt as well)l and I've actually liked some of her movies. But this video and her whole "Jenny From The Block" persona and this video are well extremely dumb. Nobody's fooling anyone with this Quote
