I think the handwriting has been on the wall for some time that Davis has played his last game in Buffalo, especially after the shouting match with fans in the playoff loss against the Chiefs.

He'll definitely get a bag from someone and even if he were to accept lessor money to chase a ring I can see that being with the Chiefs ironically, or the Bengals since both are obviously in better position to compete for that compared to the Bills.

HA. So the innuendo gets dropped at the end of your post so slightly dissing the Bills.  I see you hombre . We will just see about this next season. I wish it were my team celebrating a super bowl win. So I get it but the shade was there and Im not having it go unnoticed at MY bills board. 🙂

My point is that Davis gets dumped on here when he's been an incredible value to the team for four years.  He's not a game wrecker, but he's provided competent WR2 play for less than a million dollars a season.

If Kincaid has 2700 yards and 27 TDs in his first 4 seasons, Bills fans will be fitting him for a gold jacket.  Meanwhile, his average salary in one season is roughly what Davis earned on his entire rookie deal.  I guess I don't understand why everyone is so hostile towards a guy who never complained and vastly out-performed his contract and draft slot.

Multifactorial. And some not his fault.

Inconsistency and talent- fans HATE players that can play at a high level one week and disappear the next. Give me around 4 and 40 every week than a 2 TD 120 yard game one week and a goose egg the next. He’s also the same player he was in 2020. Gabe’s fault.

mental mistakes - there’s enough of a lowlight reel of Josh throwing bad balls and picks because Gabe isn’t where he expects. This may not be all on Gabe, but it’s seemingly only him a majority of the time. So I’m going with Gabe’s fault.

Expectations of a WR2 in a Josh Allen offense - Really, what folks want is a WR2 without the problems above, which is really like borderline WR1. Lots of folks have been clamoring for upgrades to the boundary WR position for 3 years. Beane and the FO have trotted him out as the presumptive starter to the chagrin of many, as Gabe has no elite traits and puts up counting numbers because of his target share (which mercifully trickled off this season). Not Gabe’s fault.

Gabe Davis is another classic “good but not good enough” Buffalo Bill. Roster is filled with these guys.

Tyreek Hill with Tua throwing him the ball (per season): 119 receptions, 1,754 yards, 10 TDs

Tyreek Hill with Mahomes throwing him the ball (per season): 86 receptions, 1,213 yards, 11 TDs

Cool, so when players play on different teams with different QBs have different levels of production.  Who was throwing Davis and Kincaid the ball?

Your memory is so good you even remember things that never happened, then.  Kincaid is a solid player.  I've never said otherwise.

I just went and checked the thread …

This is what you said  in response  to comments about   Knox being injured allowing Kincaid more playing time …

”if anyone thinks this is a positive then they don’t know anything about football”..

It actually turned out to be great .. because it forced them to use him more ..

Oh sorry, were we making cogent points? I thought we were coming up with bad-faith statistical comparisons. My bad.

I said that Dawson Knox getting injured wasn’t a positive for the Bills.  Buffalo proceeded to go 2-3 with him out.

Well.. when he was injured he was TE1 and came back as TE2…. So it wasnt a good thing for Dawson

If you think Knox’s injury was a positive for the Bills, then we can agree to disagree.  Similarly, if you think losing a player who had 2700 yards and 27 TDs in 4 seasons while earning $1 million a year is addition by subtraction, we can agree to disagree.

They say every cloud has a silver lining…although it’s nice that you are always here to step on any optimism…

Maybe the Chiefs can give Gabe a contract ? I hear they are looking for a WR … would love to see how Chiefs Planet react to that…

He didn't against decent secondaries when we really needed him too (@NYJ, @NE, @CIN, @KC).  He had a combined 3 catches for 38 yards in those games on 13 targets.  Not good enough.  We'll never know but I highly doubt he makes the game changing plays against a strong Chiefs secondary in the playoffs that was sorely lacking in that game.

We just paid MVS (who several posters in this thread have compared him to) $18 million over 2 seasons.  I would give Gabe that contract in a heartbeat.

You pay your 4th receiver $9m a year?

A rare miss there…

I think there’s a possibility with that.

I think the odds are slim of that happening

KC will be WR shopping. Higgins and Evans are the top free agents. I don’t think KC would, or could, pay for those guys. Davis would be a replacement for MVS. Same type of money I bet.

I wanted him to succeed badly just a limited player who can't run a full route tree. That's the problem at the end of the day. And his first 2 season he was cutch sidelines dropped nothing. Last 2 seasons alot of drops. Just sucks 2 years ago I believed he was gonna break out and be a superstar.

One of your favorite Bills players ever??!!  Seriously??  Gabe had some nice games over the years.  Seemed like a good guy.

Yes.  Because when he plays well he looks like one of the 5 best WRs in the league.  In the big games he’s had it looks like he should be unstoppable especially as a number 2.

I love his attitude, work ethic, and personality.

The 13 second game is legendary.  The toe tap game vs the Colts.

He has been one of the constants in the division championship run and hoping we’ll just easily move on with another WR yea I guess I’m very optimistic but it’s no slam dunk and his presence could really be missed.  He was a captain for a reason.
