And in saleh’s two seasons, the jets have two last place finishes in the afc east.

he can thanks Joe Douglas for giving him a chance.  In his first season, Mcdermott made the playoffs with a team many thought was tanking.

2017 was an all time coach job. Legit legendary stuff out of McD. That roster had no business picker higher than 6

I don't think this will happen but imagine if the Bills blew them out? The NY media would just crucify the Jets and Rodgers (well, Saleh more than anyone).

The truth is, even if we lose this game it's not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things. We destroyed NE on opening day 31-0. The team's seasons ended a little differently as I recall. In fact those great Pats teams often started slowly.

Yeah, you could say it ended a little differently.  0-31 Pats beat the Bils by the mirror score.

McD is 4-5 in the playoffs. His teams have choked away several playoff games. Jags, Texans, KC, and Cincinnati jump off the page.

More specifically, his team wasn't ready to play vs Cincinnati. Excuses all you want that's on him! The coach has to have his team ready!!!

KC and 13 seconds. Disaster on an epic level. McD choke job will go down in the NFL history books.

McD hasn't gotten it done playoff time. He has largely failed and his subpar record supports that. McD is just a head coach with a poor playoff record and good motivational speeches. A coach that has one of the most talented QB in the league. A head coach that has no SB appearances and no rings.

If you want to point to regular season records then McD is excellent. That is sufficient for many fans to support McD. That in itself makes many think McD is a great coach. Hello Marty S...

A valid argument can be said that McD has under performed and has been out coached on the biggest stage.

Exactly. Take into account his age as well. The Bills need Von badly because the pass rush without him will likely not get it done.

McD isn't and has never been out there running his mouth like he is a 4x superbowl champ either.

True but think about New York City and that culture.

Salah fits right in there with that kind of style. Tough, loud, arrogant, and confident. He's trying to build a winning program and changing their losing ways. Being nice in NYC doesn't cut it at all. Think Rex Ryan. Smash mouth football with trash talking are allowed and condoned.

McD is more about clapping and being optimistic. Creating a bond among his players and coaches. Creating a loving atmosphere.  Buffalo is smaller community built on a sense of community. Think Bills Mafia and Bills Babes. Finesse, being respectful, and humble are allowed and condoned.

Help that shares some light.

People are who they are.  Unless you think McD and Saleh are being phony to appease their press coverage.  I don't hate Saleh or anything but the dude is acting like they are already superbowl winners and that was before the Rodgers stuff.  This was last season too saying things like "we checkin receipts, will see you again in the playoffs."

Like honestly, I don't care.  I just think coaches with big mouths should have at least done something in the league already.  This guy hasn't even had a winning season yet. 4-13 and 7-10.  I think they are building a good team.  They certainly have the talent.  Poor OC and who knows if Rodgers is going to be MVP Rodgers or if he is going to be a guy that is losing it, but they still built a good team.  Still... they need to be more than paper tigers to have that kind of mouth.

All that really matters is winning. Salah needs to start stacking Ws or he is going to be the latest failed NJ coach

I hear you but my point is Salah's personality fits the city he's in. A soft talking coach will get eaten alive.

Think about how the NYC media would have treated McD after the 13 second disaster. The Buffalo media didn't even make McD sweat.

Who cares about press conferences? You honestly think McDermott couldn’t handle the NYC media?

That’s a big big stretch arguably one of the nicest men in the history of baseball Joe Torre won 4 World Series titles in the biggest sport of all to New York sports fans.
You win on talent of the team you have.

D Jones and Poona Ford are going to be tested to hold the line.

Not high on Poona. He doesn't look very good. Hope I'm wrong.

I suspect the Jets will be successful running the ball. Not to mention the MLB spot looks to be wide open.

Jets smashed the Bill in the run game last year. Their oline run game is good. I think Carter might have the most success.

Why the Salah hate? I don't get it. He seems to be on the same level as McD. Good motivators and weaker on the xs and os. Tough blue collar coaches.

Blue collar doesn't mean anything. It's a dumb phrase attached to certain types of people based in how they look, act, and talk, but it's hollow.

Who is not blue collar? The Dolphins, Chargers, and 49ers coaches? Why? Because they're not tough, gruff, mean, and demanding of their players?

Seriously, the game, by its very structure, demands hard work, toughness, etc. It's blue collar, regardless.

If Salah is so "blue collar" then why does he wear designer shades, drive a Tesla, get weekly manicures, and have a house in Napa County? Sounds like a bourgeois puff boy to me!

Meanwhile McDermott lives in a humble two bedroom home in the old first ward South Buffalo, drives 2003 Ford ranger, trims his nails, and gets his glasses from Zenni.  Now that's the salt of the earth proletariat!

I loved the signing of Ford but he has not shown out in the pre season. The Bills will need to control the line of scrimmage to contain the Jets ground attack
