They can afford to pay someone to come out and return the carts. I rarely use the corrals since I’m in the store at least 5 times a week and can easily carry my purchases to the car without taking the cart with me. I’m more likely to take a cart TO the store than away, but the bit of holding me hostage for a quarter is not a game I want to play. Count me in the ten percent that never uses cash for anything so I never have change. I used to shop at a store that had the quarter thing, I forget which one. Maybe a Giant Eagle back in the day.
