So I went to order the choose love shirt. It's $25 on the Bills site...look how much it would cost me...

I will just wait til I go to a game this year sadly

This is why I'm the family courier for my sisters in Mississauga. I'm in St Catharines and we have a PO box over in Lewiston for this kind of stuff.  I'm also apparently really good at bringing stuff over without having to pay border taxes (probably saved my sister $1k by this point), I guess my demeanor works well on the border agents.

How about skipping the shirt and the middle man entirely, and donating $25 directly to the charity of your choice related to the incident?

Who needs the t-shirt?

I am most certainly not religious, but Jesus did have a point when he allegedly said:

"Watch out! Don’t do your good deeds publicly, to be admired by others, for you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven."

Matthew 6:1

Does this mean they did something to fix the issue people have been having?

I was today years old when I learned Caribbean Netherlands was a real place and not a typo.

Is the Dutch Antilles the Taiwan of the Caribbean?!!! St Maarten better watch out! St Martin might invade!

I hope I didn't just start WW3 thinking they made a typo including a country I had literally never heard of before.

Duties are nuts. The shipping isn't horrific.

Whatever it is, I had to stop ordering car parts from Rock Auto because items that used to ship for $5-$20 were suddenly $20-50 to ship during the pandemic.

Yeah its insane. To think I could live in Turkey and pay the same for shipping even though I'm only 90 minutes from Buffalo just amazes me

This must be how they can afford that free health care you guys have.

Customs charges on a $25 shirt aren't THAT high.  It's just the shipping companies gouging us for having to deal with border nonsense.

BINGO!

Like I said up thread, cut the middle man out of it and just contribute some money directly to the charity of your choice.

I get this. I really do. I have donated to this already but it's also about wanting to stand with others showing the same message on the shirt.

It's not just about the shirt. It's about what it represents.

Your point about just donating is very valid. I don't want to take away from that. I am just saying I would love to show my support along with everyone else who is wearing the shirt

You also need to do research on the charities you may donate to.  Many of them are so inefficiently managed, that you're lucky if pennies on your donated dollar actually eventually go to charitable use once the managers and other overhead costs take their cut.  A good example is the knee-jerk donations to the Red Cross whenever there is a hurricane or something.  You're not getting a dollar to the current victims, you're getting nickles to next year's hurricane victims.

There's even a whole industry of technically legal "legitimate" charities and nonprofits where management bonuses coincidentally increase by about the same amount of the extra money raised that year.  It's what drove me nuts living with my great aunt as a teenager, dealing with dozens of calls per week from all these fraud charities because she kept giving all her money to them thinking she was making a difference.
