*Approved* Information only and Spotify fallout

How many times does this point need to be made: THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT WHAT IS TRUE OR WHAT IS FALSE.

The entire point is to manage information from the top-down. Where "experts" and "science" are defined by the government and their credentialist lackeys.

No, they just don't want people spewing lies on their platform. Seems pretty clear cut

That's not the "they" I was talking about. But you knew that.

If, as the reports suggest, the White House is leaning on Spotify to come down harder on Rogan, this is de facto state action and brings up first amendment issues. Same with Facebook, other big tech, etc. You can't plausibly suggest that these "private companies" would do this on their own when JRE is on, what, episode 1700? And received a $100M contract two years ago.

Dr. Fauci has an open invitation, as does anyone else who wishes to platform the approved information regarding COVID, to go on JRE. Sanjay Gupta took up the invitation. They had a very pleasant conversation.

WH can "lean" on anyone, like Conservatives do all the time. Conservatives  make a living attacking the media. But Biden "does" it, and the world is ending?

Do you think there is a difference between publicly stating you think certain media conglomerates are against you and privately communicating with shot-callers at media companies regarding your preferences on their allowable content?

The government is always communicating with media outlets. Are you against the FCC? Do you think media outlets can just say anything?

What does the FCC have jurisdiction over?

So did ivermectin win a Nobel prize for use on humans against a virus? Anyone who repeated that was simply a horse dewormer is the liar. I ask a real question- they started a study to see how well it worked in July 2021 but still have not released results, why? Even inconclusive results would be useful.

So what happen to Rogan? Nothing? Just added a information link?

According to reports, that hasn't satisfied the White House. Which is what I was talking about to start with.

Are you for or against critical thinking?

Methinks you have no idea what a lie really is.

Our Media Overlords Are Not Happy

d6193516-7bda-4399-8a41-000583d656e0-860

FTA:

Something else Stelter and his ilk won’t mention is that in preferring to listen to people like Joe Rogan over blowhards like Don Lemon, it’s not so much the case that they necessarily “trust” Rogan. What they are hungry for are different points of view, which they don’t get much of at places like CNN and MSNBC.

As it turns out, people like listening to a variety of voices so they can form their own opinions rather than being spoon-fed opinions from people like Brian Stelter who are supposed to be objective reporters but at the end of the day come off like American versions of Baghdad Bob.

That more people are turning away from traditional sources of “news” is absolutely a good thing in this toxic climate where so-called “journalists” who have been entrusted with holding the government accountable turn out more often than not to be mouthpieces for that same government, to the exclusion of alternative points of view. As my colleague streiff observed in a recent piece:

It shows that critical thinking is alive and well in America. It shows that, as a nation, we aren’t willing to believe what the media power structure tells us without question. The day when more people believe Brian Stelter than any other random person on social media will be the day from which we can start the countdown to our national collapse.

‘Nuff said.

Award-winning Spotify science podcast drops regular show to focus on countering misinformation spread by Joe Rogan and others on Spotify (because there isn't enough out there that actually does counter him which makes this not about "misinformation.")

The makers of an award-winning science podcast on Spotify say they're dropping their regular show amid the Joe Rogan COVID-19 misinformation row.

Wendy Zukerman and Blythe Terrell, respectively producer and editor of "Science Vs," say they'll now only make shows "intended to counteract misinformation being spread on Spotify."

Scientists, health professionals, and musicians including Neil Young and Joni Mitchell criticised Spotify after Rogan hosted a guest on his podcast who broadcast misinformation about COVID-19 measures. Rogan released a video on Sunday apologising to Spotify for the backlash it received as a result of his show.

In a letter sent to Spotify CEO Daniel Ek, published Monday, Terrell and Zukerman say Rogan's show left listeners with a "skewed and inaccurate" view of COVID-19 vaccines, adding: "Spotify has done little to address this."

Excuse me, morons.  Spotify's job is to make money.

It's the "public health" officials job and your doctor to advise you on vaccines.

And despite Spotify's reluctance to play the role of doctors and scientist, most every corporate entity on the planet and government (Even President DeSantis in Florida) has advised on getting a vaccine - some (unlike President DeSantis) have tried to force you to get or you're fired.

You would think after 2 plus years of this scourge against humanity, that the biggest thing to convince people to get the vaccine, would be mass death.  That everyone should personally know by now someone who died and are convinced this is definitely a threat.

No.  Instead, they've consumed all the data (not the news) and determined its not.

Most importantly, all these entities telling you to get it, from the beginning, have been lying (except President DeSantis).  They are proven liars and tyrants.  They deserve zero compliance now into year 3 of 15 days and once vaccinated no more masks - which is what they told the first experiments in the first 6 months of the roll out, vaccination would do.

Omg.......this definitely needs a content advisory warning holy cow the lies - starting with the first f...ing sentence in the headline:

COVID boosters are the secret to getting back to normal. Why are Americans so resistant to them?

On Tuesday, Denmark lifted all of its remaining coronavirus restrictions — a moment that millions of Americans have been longing for, especially as the Omicron wave that began in December appears to be subsiding.

Denmark is an enticing vision of what could be. So is the U.K., where coronavirus safety measures were dispensed with in mid-January. But neither the president nor his top public health officials have been eager to signal an end to the emergency phase of the pandemic by lifting any remaining federal restrictions or softening safety recommendations (such as in-school masking). - weird I didn't think they could do that - and cool they admit they're "hard."

The reason is simple, the challenge intractable: The fast-moving Omicron variant is still causing more than 2,500 U.S. deaths a day — (it is?  Or are these totals from weeks ago?)  and not nearly enough vulnerable Americans have received their booster shots to prevent the next serious variant from taking a similarly tragic toll.

So far, despite an endless supply of shots and months of easy access, barely a quarter of the U.S. population (27 percent) have received a booster — less than half the Danish (61 percent) or British (55 percent) rate.

Even among Americans who’ve already received their initial vaccine doses and are eligible for another, nearly 50 percent have yet to get a booster, which offers much greater protection against serious or critical COVID-19 illness than what continues to count for full vaccination (two doses of the mRNA vaccines manufactured by Pfizer or Moderna, or a single Johnson & Johnson shot).

The result is practically unique to America, where vaccination rates are solid but booster rates are low: “A pandemic of the unboosted,” as Dr. Peter Hotez, an infectious-disease expert at Baylor College of Medicine, recently told the Financial Times.

Pandemic of the unboosted now!

Spotify's not the arbiter of what Rogan can and cannot say. But they do seem to think they have the right to decide who gets to use their service based on what they believe.

That's why I think the Court was wrong in it's ruling that a business can decide to deny services (like cake) based on beliefs.

Down the slippery slope we go.

Next slip down, denial of service based on political party.

if the cake ordered was asked to be in the shape of a swaztica and the owners were jewish. should they have to bake it? honest answer?

if joe rogans service is talking about subjects you disagree with do you have to listen to it?

there is a difference between forcing someone to PROVIDE a service and someone being forced to USE it...or in this case, not use it even if they want to.

i don't think spotify wants to remove anything. they are in self preservation mode trying to not give the paranhas anything to latch on to. i wish we weren't in a world view where simple conversation was deemed dangerous. the fact people have a issue he is talking to EXPERTS is pretty scary. after being wrong about so much for so long they still stand on a soapbox as the arbitrator of truth all with state backing. the fact the organizations he is directly competing with are at the for front of the attack. that should be a big red flag of which side they are on and their true intentions.

but these are two different issues. you cant create a slope with a example, just when you disagree with it and then talk about how slippery its gotten later on. refusal of service happens all the time for various reasons. you just don't mantle it because it was not shouted through a megaphone for a few months. i can name 100s you would agree with as its been happening long before a baker refused a cake. if you want a acctual example lets talk about refusal of service based on medical history that goes directly against actual LAW, not personal belief. HIPPA is a thing of the past and many love it and advocate it daily..even against children.

If these folks that think Rogan's guests are spreading COVID misinformation then just get everyone together in a no hold barred debate of the specific topic where they and their experts come to the table and debate Rogan's expert guests and we get down to it all on the up and up and get all the facts straight on the topic without any interference from any censors or uninformed know-it-alls.  How simple is that?  Because right now it just looks to me like they're trying to protect the official narratives from scrutiny.  Thunderdome time.  Two narratives enter, one narrative leaves.

Like Dr,. Malone suggests that vaccine induced creation of spike proteins have the potential to cause irreparable harm to functions and organs of the human body.  Don't tell me that's misinformation.  Prove to me he's wrong.  If they're right as the claim to be by urging censorship then it should be easy to prove.

My view: The bottom line is censorship advocates that claim to be looking out for the interests of the listen or viewer or the public by demanding conflicting views be silenced and stopped from spreading misinformation their real motive is to protect the messenger and the official narrative from criticism and scrutiny of the misinformation they're spreading.
