As I read a bit of this thread, it doesn't seem like an environment I'll want to spend a lot of time in.

But quickly, I spent about ten years in Williamsville. I now live in Japan. Which is now, sadly, a more functional democracy than America has been the past few years, though I do believe America will, with difficulty and struggle, self-correct.

What I learned? To depend on myself but love. And that people rejecting honesty as a major part of their belief system and their standards of behavior should be avoided and not respected. Everyone lies a bit, but those who do it as a consistent major part of their behavior pattern don't earn my respect, nor should they earn anyone's. That people worthy of respect must constantly fight with their tendencies to perceive what they want to believe. Confirmation bias must be fought, always, and evidence, such as that science provides, should be neutrally evaluated and only when trustworthy and logical, believed.

Jesus, I'm getting tedious here, and so quickly.

I don't think you are THAT tedious.

Here's what I see as a breakdown of posts on this board:

30% are @bmanposting full articles from Redstate and Twitchy, without comment.

20% are links to The Lincoln Project, which is generally where @BillStime gets his talking points.

18% are @Irv posting "what a mess" about anything Biden related

17% are @BillStime posting memes of trump, primarily the "shaking" or "LMAO" meme.

10% are @SectionC3 calling people names like chef Jim Crow or attacking anyone who is interested in finding a treatment for COVID

3% are wild tales of NJ's excellence being spun by @Governor

2% is what's left for intelligent discussion

Sorry if I missed anybody.  Happy Thursday fellas!

The mess we are in, started January 20, 2021 when Demented Biden took over and destroyed the fantastic work the Trump Administration was doing.  How many more crises can Dopey Joe and his communist buddies create?  It's as if they are purposely trying to destroy the country.  A horror movie, but unfortunately it's real.

I forgot about chef Jim Crow.  Thank you for reminding me about that.

also, FYI, you have a pretty low bar for what passes for intelligent discussion.

Barack Obama GIF by GIPHY News

Bill Ayers and all their communist enablers.

Biggest con on the biggest dupes in human history.

They've been doubling down on every disaster his people were behind or the architects of since 2009.

This is how Obama really felt about Americans when he first ran for President:

Watch Bruce Springsteen Smear His Own Fans as N-Word Hurling Racists

During an appearance on the far-left CBS Sunday Morning, Bruce Springsteen smeared his own fans as N-word hurling racists.

Springsteen appeared with former failed President Barack Obama and heartily agreed with Obama’s characterization of his fans as racists who would have called black saxophonists Clarence Clemons a “ni**er” if they ever caught him offstage.

Here’s the relevant transcript:

OBAMA: In an ideal world what Bruce and Clarence portrayed on stage was essentially a reconciliation, right? Redemption.

SPRINGSTEEN: That’s right.

OBAMA: But most of your audiences were primarily white. And they can love Clarence when he’s onstage, but if they ran into him in a bar, suddenly–

SPRINGSTEEN: Oh, yeah.

OBAMA: –the N-word comes out.”

SPRINGSTEEN: (nods emphatically) Yeah.

OBAMA: And part of Bruce’s music and part of my politics has been, ‘No, no you gotta surface that stuff, you gotta talk about it.  Sunlight is the disinfectant.’

SPRINGSTEEN: Yeah.

OBAMA:  And if you talk about it then you can reconcile in a true way. Not in a phony way, but in a real way.

If I could just back up for a second… In the opening part of the clip, Obama The Liar asks Springsteen, “How unusual was it to have an integrated band back in the day?”

The question itself is a lie.

The history of integrated bands goes all the way back to the 1930s. There was nothing, and I mean NOTHING revolutionary about Springsteen’s E Street Band having a black member, most especially in the 1970s. No one ever thought a thing of it.

Benny Goodman, Paul Whiteman, Artie Shaw, the Jimi Hendrix Experience, the Del Vikings, the Dead Kennedys, Thin Lizzy, Blood Sweat, and Tears; Sly and the Family Stone, Three Dog Night, The Allman Brothers, War, KC & The Sunshine Band — I could go on and on and on — were all integrated either permanently or at notable times throughout their history.

The Civil Rights movement worked. In the 70s and 80s, and 90s, people of all races lived and worked together just fine. We hardly thought about race. It wasn’t until Barack Obama came along with a campaign determined to bring back racial division that we regressed as a nation.

If Springsteen’s fans met Clarence Clemons in a bar, the only thing the Big Man would have to fear is being mobbed with affection and having too many drinks bought for him.

Springsteen used to slide across the stage and kiss Clemons right on the mouth. Never once, and I personally saw this happen at near a half-dozen concerts, including in the South, did I hear anything but cheers.

It’s also worth pointing that the album that made Springsteen a superstar —  and this is when albums were albums when they came in a 12-inch package where the cover art was nearly as important as the music — was Born to Run, which famously featured — on the front and back — a photo of Springsteen leaning on Clemons—leaning on, egads! a black man!

Lastly, I read Clarence Clemon’s autobiography Big Man: Real Life & Tall Tales (2009) and don’t recall anything in there about a racial or even negative encounter with an E Street fan. Granted, it’s been ten years, and I’m happy to correct this if I misremembered, but I do know Clemons held nothing back in that memoir, and it only makes sense that he ran into countless Springsteen fans over the decades, and I recall nothing about this.

I went into Jack Astors in the Galleria mall and a black dude walked in and was immediatly accosted by a drunk white dude telling him he wasn't suppose to be there.Everyone tried laughing it off, but we all had raised eye brows. I play hockey and there are so many racist dudes that speak their ignorant mnids in the locker rooms. All this "stop the steal" is just so racist. The NAACP on Thursday called on members of the NBA, WNBA, NFL, NHL and MLB to consider not signing with teams in Texas as a protest against several controversial laws passed recently in the state.

In the two-page letter given first to ABC News, the NAACP took jabs at state lawmakers, calling the state "a blueprint by legislators to violate constitutional rights for all, especially for women, children and marginalized communities." The NAACP noted the state's controversial laws on abortion, voting rights and coronavirus mask mandates as reasons for free agents not to sign with Texas teams.

As we watch an incomprehensible assault on basic human rights unfold in Texas, we are simultaneously witnessing a threat to constitutional guarantees for women, children and marginalized communities," NAACP National President Derrick Johnson and NAACP Texas State Conference President Gary Bledsoe wrote in the letter. "Over the past few months, legislators in Texas have passed archaic policies, disguised as laws, that directly violate privacy rights and a woman's freedom to choose, restrict access to free and fair elections for Black and Brown voters, and increase the risk of contracting coronavirus."

Rapier.  Interesting.  Better not give your insurrectionist pals ideas about new devices to carry the next time they lose an election and want to storm the Capitol.

Weren't you just talking about mooching off of your girlfriend for rides?  I believe about 50% of what you post is true, but I think you only believe 66.666% is true, so we're not that far off.    I'll give you one thing though, you are a funny dude.  I'm always happy to have a beer with a Bills fan, regardless of their politics.

I’m a real handful after a few beers.
