Bills Sunday football. ‘92 AFC Championship Game Bills @ Dolphins

Recommended Posts

Kelly hurt in the season finale forced Reich into a starring role in the Greatest Comeback in NFL History, then followed up with a gutty Road win at Pittsburg. Jimbo returned for the Conference Championship at #1 nemesis Miami with a chance to make 3 straight SBs.

Enjoy!

Yep. And that made it all the sweeter. Miami fans were talking so much crap before that game. Understandable, as they were a legit good team. But the lack of respect came back to bite them in the ass for sure.

I remember this as being the Thurman Thomas screen game....repeatedly gashed the Dolphins with screens

I was 16 and remeber this gamenlike it was yesterday.  51-3 has to be the best of the AFC title games but this one was right up there.  To beat Miami, like that in their house.  They had to believe it was their time to finally get past us and we systematically choked them out.

In the regular season they had crushed us in Buffalo 37-10, while we snuck by 26-20 in Miami.

Once again thanks Chandler.  This stuff is gold to me

Bills fans were concentrated in one corner of the upper level.(Where I was sitting) As the clock wound down, Bills fans broke out in song: Na-na-na-na! Hey-A-A! .....Goodbye!

One of the most satisfying Bills games ever. The picture of a shell-shocked Marino in the Monday News was classic.

As K-9 alluded, we left a LOT of points on the field, but the game was never close. Thorough Buff-kickin’ from beginning to end. Biscuit, Hanson & Bruce were tremendous!

Then, there’s Thurman..

I remember this game very well—solid team effort football to put Miami and That “insufferable facial expression at all times Marino” down for the count—you could tell Kelly was still not back at a 100%, but it didn’t matter. Love it, thanks OP!

Was this the game where they showed Duper and Clayton in the pre-game taunting "Let's Go Buffalo"?

Nice video to look over while I'm feeding my face lunch.

Beating Miami anytime is a fun thing.

The screen pass was deadly that day.

With Miami up 3-0, I think that it was Shane Conlan who deflected (and picked off?) a Marino pass.

We didn't know it at the time, but the game at that point, was essentially over!

Marino had the bad timing to be at his career best when the Bills were so dominant.  He had the talent to win at least one SB but he couldn't get past Buffalo, year after year.

This game shows how one team BEATS another team.  Not just outscores them, but beats them down and crushes their spirit.

It was 3-3 at the time, and it was Phil Hansen who deflected and picked off Marino.

The game was really decided earlier that that, when Bruce Smith broke through a block by the guard and sacked Marino immediately after a three-step drop.  Unbelievable quickness and acceleration by Bruce.  Marino was sketchy the rest of the game.

ESPN had a Top 5 Reasons segment years ago with one being Why Marino never returned to the SB after his 2nd season. The #1 Reason Dan Marino never returned to the Super Bowl: The Buffalo Bills.

It's at 51:30 of the video.  Buffalo had just taken a 10-3 lead. Miami tried to fumble us the kickoff but got lucky and covered it, then Hansen made that play on 1st down. The Bills kicked a FG on the ensuing drive to go up 13-3.

This wasn't a pretty game, lots of mistakes by both teams. The outcome was nice though 🙂
