I can only assume it was considered a compromise to erode the power of the evil slave states. the fact you are missing is the weighting of the population was to ascribe the relative weight of the vote results vs other states. Those actual racist slave owning scumbags didn’t actually allow slaves to vote. I think you are missing this detail. my hope is the intent was to weaken the power the slave states had so they could eventually overturn it. But I admit I don’t know enough on this topic to understand motivation and intent. sounds like you don’t either, but it’s good to see that didn’t delay jumping to a damning conclusion anyway. But I applaude your actions to recognize the importance of diversity and actually doing something about it. I try to live my life focused on solutions, which requires trying to see what needs all sides have... But I can also get dragged into arguing with people who come off to me as bad actors.
