Tre White.....and.......wait for it...........Ed Oliver.  He is improving, yeah he should be better at this stage but he is improving.  Just looking at #1 picks.....

The problem is hes almost done with his rookie deal and we didn't get the benefit of that enough

That should be the focus in the offseason for Beane on both sides of the ball.

#1 - Pass rushers(2)

#2 - Homerun threat at RB

#3 - More speed at the TE position

#4 - MLB that can cover

#5 - #2 CB(a true #2 guy not a band-aid)

The good news is they have lots of cap space to do all this and resign Mongo, D Williams, Milano and give Allen a ginormous extension.  They have at least 1.5 million to do those things from what I have seen.

But we can watch it...like the Bills did yesterday yesterday, short pass to T Hill and then he runs all over the place with 11 guys watching/chasing him around.

Edmunds frustrated me there. For all the athleticism he's supposed to bring to us he gets completely manhandled on a block from some dinky WR on a bad angle no less.

Diggs stopped showing up with the Vikings because he was unhappy with this production in the offense....he was considered a diva.

Beane still pulled the trigger and gave up a good amount to get him.

Yeah Diggs was already a very good player but you are going to be lying to me if you thought he was going to have the 6th most receptions in a single season in NFL history.  Nah....not huge props.  You knew Diggs was going to be this good right?  The ROI is incredible on this trade.

Here are other WR that were traded for 1st round picks.....any of them have a year Diggs had?  This is a few years old but as you can see....

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/play-index/share.fcgi?id=JDI5G

He has been here 3 out of the 4 years, he has his fingerprints all over this roster and hit on the QB that many analysts saw as a guaranteed bus....he pulled the trigger and traded up.  He got the most important piece.

Maybe I'm still salty over that awful performance last night, but I'm not going to give Beane huge props for the Diggs trade.  Diggs definitely had a great year, but I would argue that Josh Allen elevated Diggs, just as he elevated Beasley.  And you're not even addressing the fact that the Bills could have stayed at 22 and picked Justin Jefferson, who's six years younger than Diggs, is on a much cheaper contract over the next four years, and put up numbers that were every bit as good as Diggs's this year, with Kirk Cousins throwing him the ball.  Care to address that?

Every bit as good as Diggs?

Diggs had 127 receptions and Jefferson had 88....that's a difference of 39 catches.   That's very equal.  That means that a WR that had 49 catches, it was every bit as good as Jefferson's if we are using your analogy.

I'm not sure if you know this but Kirk Cousins has thrown for over 4,000 yards 5 times in his career.  WR getting numbers isn't the problem with Cousins accept last year...because they went run heavy.

Diggs lead the league in catches and yards and was a HUGE reason why we improved 10-11 points per game.  But nope, we should have drafted Jefferson.

Jefferson finished with 1400 yards, averaged almost 4 yards per catch more than Diggs and had 1 less TD.  That’s pretty damn comparable.  And Jefferson was a 21-year old rookie.

Do you know the difference between an X and Z receiver?

So it’s guaranteed that Jefferson will be every bit as good as Diggs for their careers?

I recall saying no such thing.  What are talking about?

Well, you said we should have just stayed at 22 and just picked Jefferson....so you must feel pretty confident that he will always be as good as Diggs.

There’s no reason to think he won’t.  Are you confident that in five years Diggs will be outperforming Jefferson?

Diggs worked out great. I had my concerns going in. But he was great. That being said Jefferson may end up having the better career. As to the original question. I like our secondary. Think they’re all strong in technique. But maybe we need to inject some raw speed back there. We looked so slow compared to the Chiefs last night. I’ve never liked Edmunds. Think he will always be chasing plays. That gets you some tackling stats but doesn’t impact the game the way you’d like. As everyone else has said. Oliver has not been worthy of his draft position. We need a real pass rush. Last night was an eye opener in that regard.

1. A Watt and a Bosa

2. McCaffrey

3.Hunter Henry

4. Vander Esch

Agree, as the saying goes "speed kills", "can't coach speed".

That said, can't fill every single need but its a solid list to work from.

Beane needs to be very honest this offseason and make some tough decisions, ie: roster cuts.  Perhaps creating enough cap to sign Milano back, or look for an upgrade at other positions.  Then absolutely need to continue hitting on the 1st, 2nd round picks.  Oliver and Epenesa need to stand out next season

I think the train is leaving the station on Oliver.

And the Scouting Reports on Epenesa were he was an 8 sack kind of guy in the NFL tops. His Combine showed lack of explosion with a 5.01 - 40.

I agree 110%...all I said was he is improving....not to our liking and probably not to the coaching staffs either.....time will tell.
