I admit I was speeding, although not on purpose, Anyway, I was very respectful to the officer and he was very respectful to me. He asked me for my license and I obliged. If I get stopped I do everything I can to put the officer at ease. Hands on the wheel and informing her/him what I'm doing, such as getting in my glove box for the registration. After that the subtle begging comes in to play. If I was speeding I'll bemoan the fact that I do a lot of driving for a living and can't take the points. Invariably I'll get a lesser charge such as not wearing a seat belt or in one case an obstruction on the windshield which happened to be a radar detector.
