ESPN reporter pulled from finals exemplifies ‘hypocrisy in woke culture’: Clay Travis

 

 

Outkick founder Clay Travis told, "Fox & Friends" Wednesday that ESPN reporter Rachel Nichols has always been "super woke publicly" and called the Maria Taylor drama a "huge mess" for the sports network. Travis made the comments after Nichols complained about Taylor getting the NBA Finals hosting gig last year over what she suggested was for "diversity" reasons.

 

CLAY TRAVIS: [Rachel Nichols] actually lost two jobs now, and they are uncertain if her show is ever going to return to air, meaning Rachel Nichols –- and this is all come out of a tape that was made over a year ago when she was inside the NBA bubble — Rachel Nichols did not know her home camera there in the hotel room was on and had a conversation about being replaced by Maria Taylor, a black woman, and said the reason why she was losing her job was because of ESPN issues with diversity, implying quite clearly that Maria Taylor was getting her job because of the color of Maria Taylor's skin. 

 

Now, what's ironic about this is Rachel Nichols has always been super woke publicly. She praised the NBA over the disastrous decision to move the All-Star game out of Charlotte, North Carolina, over a transgender bathroom bill. She’s lectured the rest of the American sporting public for a long time about diversity and inclusion issues…

But then, behind closed doors, suddenly, she appears to be something that she has claimed not to be, and/or the hypocrisy finally reveals itself, which is, as you guys know, many of the super woke white people love the idea of diversity and inclusion as long as their own jobs aren't impacted by that diversity and inclusion push — and this is what's blown up on Rachel Nichols. It's a huge mess for ESPN, and honestly, we're not sure if she's going to be able to continue working at the network.

Embarrassment Follows After Media Freak on Man Supposedly 'Screaming the N-Word' on TV

 

 

Perhaps the most tiring aspect of our current cultural moment is the constant search for racism in order to justify the worldviews of a select few. We’ve seen hoax after hoax exposed over the last several years, from the Jussie Smollett boondoggle to numerous “noose” accusations (including on construction sites as if ropes are routinely hung in those areas). That’s not to say that no racism exists (and it always will at some level), but when acts of racism have to be fabricated so often, we are clearly doing better as a nation than some claim.

 

Well, another episode happened last night in which media figures rushed to Twitter to claim a man was shouting the n-word during a Colorado Rockies broadcast.

 

 

 

Nightengale would go on to post that the man heard yelling on TV should be thrown in jail. Now, while I’m against the use of racial epithets, we do not imprison people for saying naughty things in this country, or at least we don’t do so yet. This isn’t Europe and hopefully, it never will be. But the illiberalism is apparent in these people and they never seemingly understand the unintended consequences of what they are calling for.

 

Anyway, the story went viral. Numerous other “journalists” commented and the man was trashed for the better part of 12 hours as a disgusting racist that should be hunted down and punished. Because our society is so reactionary, no one seemed to bother to stop and ask “Wait, did he actually say it?”

The answer is no, he was not shouting the n-word on a baseball broadcast for the world (and the hundreds of people seated around him) to hear.

 

 

 

This is just embarrassing. The man was calling for the Rockies’ mascot, which is named Dinger. That’s why not a single person sitting near him claims to have heard him use the n-word.

 

Despite the unequivocal evidence that this was a made-up scandal, if you read the replies to the above tweet, most people are still insisting the man said the n-word. Their “proof” is that it’s what they hear in the video.

 

Let me explain something. The mind has a way of hearing what you tell it to hear. There are many mind-twisters where a piece of audio is played and subtitled in a way that makes you hear something that it’s not actually saying. This was a favorite technique on those “ghost hunting” shows where they’d play some garbled static but would tell you what it’s supposedly saying. Sure enough, you’d start to hear what they were claiming.

I heard this on the radio today and wondered how he got away with it, especially if he said multiple times. I think clearly the issue here is that the Rockies chose a mascot name that sounds too close to a bad word. The Rockies should apologize to all offended and give those offended free season tickets for life since this situation is clearly their fault.

That's what happens in a true emergency, even today, with all our aspirations of gender equality. A passenger went wild and threatened to bring down the plane, and the standard of who must act now was: "all strong males." And just about all the men stepped up. 

 

We do understand that, however much we minimize discussion of that aspect of reality.

Selective Service & Draft have come under fire as obvious affronts to gender equality, I'd give the other side some credit for recognizing the if this/than that about it, EXCEPT, they are doing expecting no draft ever happens at all and IF it were to happen that females would just be exempt.

By the way, I watch a lot of Jeopardy with my elderly mom. So I saw the parade of guest hosts. This guy was actually the best! He may have been the show's Exec Producer hiring himself, but still ... out on the field of play he won the job fair and square.
