WASHINGTON – Joe Biden, the presumptive Democratic nominee for president, previously said the announcement of his running mate would be in the first week of August. But that announcement has been pushed back. A source familiar with the process said that an announcement isn't likely next week. According to the New York Times and CNN, the announcement will come the week before the Democratic National Convention, which is scheduled for Aug. 17 to 20. Three candidates, Karen Bass of California, Sen. Kamala Harris of California and former national security advisor Susan Rice, have emerged as the top contenders for Biden's running

Stop and think what it would be like if Biden would actually win. Biden's mental condition guarantees that someone or someones else will be calling the shots. The possibilities of palace intrigue are endless. How involved will the VP be in the daily running of the administration? The cabal that Biden is sure to have that will be fighting for power will have to recognize that VP Black Lady could very well become POTUS. Yes, more scheming than a whole season of a reality Survivor show.

Instead of ‘socialism would be great if it worked,’ followed by a bunch of arguments about how socialism cannot work, say, ‘socialism has killed more people than has smallpox, and it makes people no more important than farm animals,” followed by all of the logical arguments making THAT statement true.  Finally, restate the fact that socialism is evil, as it treats people like farm animals, and kills more effectively than do plagues.

We win the occasional election, but very little if anything gets rolled back when we do.  Democrats, in the meantime, bide their time, and then come back with new ways to grow government.

If we want to win in the long term, we need to convince people that growing government is morally wrong.

The problem is everyone born after 1985 has no idea what the threat of socialism/communism was/is.  Untillllllll the last 5 months.  This is Socialism.  The closest we've ever been and honestly they know it and would like to keep it that way.

The only good moment Mitt Romney had was his first debate with Obama.  Obama went after Mitt about wanting to deregulate everything.  And Mitt said, that's insane.  Of course there is going to be some regulations.  Nowhere on planet Earth has full fledged lassiez faire capitalism ever worked.  Just like full fledged Socialism does not.

We need choice.  Options.  And competition.  It forces companies to deliver good products.  You go elsewhere if the product sucks.

Supply and demand should work with employment as well.   The more in demand, the higher your worth.  The rare skill in demand....much higher in worth.

Make yourself someone worth something in the job market.  Get married and stay married.  Calling  a capitalist selfish?  Yea the risk these awful capitalists take on everyday.  Better watch out now to.  I hear the governor is sending "agents" to monitor the restaurants in NY and take away liquor licenses.

And no one moves to NY or CA to retire unless they're rich.  Those are big government holes.  You want to move there?  Then retire and have to pay those taxes?  I didn't think so.

And yes, all their arguments are indeed grounded in feelings and an inflated sense of entitlement.  Not logic, reason, or math.

Joe Biden's Veep Delay Underscores a Campaign and a Candidate in Chaos

by Steven Green

Original Article

Those of us silly enough to get excited about this stuff suffered a major letdown this weekend when Joe Biden’s campaign announced that Biden would not announce his vice presidential running mate on Saturday, but would instead wait another week or longer. Originally set for August 1, the announcement now won’t come before August 10, according to the New York Post. Biden’s pick is going to be a woman unless Biden breaks his vow from last March, and she’s probably going a “woman of color.” Given the realities of the American political landscape, that’s a short list of potential running mates.

I knew this was coming, and I'm expecting a lot more of this: "Let’s Scrap the Presidential Debates."

That particular example is by Elizabeth Drew and appears in the NYT today. I haven't read this yet, but I anticipate that it will not admit to a motivation to shield Biden from a test of his mental acuity:
The debates have never made sense as a test for presidential leadership. In fact, one could argue that they reward precisely the opposite of what we want in a president. When we were serious about the presidency, we wanted intelligence, thoughtfulness, knowledge, empathy and, to be sure, likability. It should also without saying, dignity....

This, by the way, isn’t written out of any concern that Donald Trump will prevail over Joe Biden in the debates; Mr. Biden has done just fine in a long string of such contests. The point is that “winning” a debate, however assessed, should be irrelevant, as are the debates themselves....

Ridiculous. How can you read that and not laugh? Not written out of any concern that Trump will do better than Biden?!

I am truly disgusted by this effort help Biden avoid debating. I've been writing about this for a while. Back on June 25th, I showed you a WaPo column by Karen Tumulty, "It’s time to rethink the presidential debates" and I said I expected "a push to eliminate the debates."

On July 8, I wrote, "The effort to rescue Biden from the demand to debate continues apace." That was based on a Thomas Friedman column, "Biden Should Not Debate Trump Unless …/Here are two conditions the Democrat should set."

I said "It's not an outright argument to keep Biden out of the debates, but that's where it's headed." And: "[W]e need to see Joe perform in real time, on his feet, intensely challenged. He cannot weasel out."
