I don't think Biden has the energy to see the finish line, he's just as gaffe prone as Trump, and the only reason he wasn't roughed up about his brother's shady dealings, Hunter's shady dealings, his various political positions over the years, etc. is because the other Democrats thought he was dead in the race and they didn't want to spend the precious dollars. Least offensive is probably accurate. But the fact that to the elite, he's "one of us" which goes along with his 50 year "I ride the train back to Delaware every night, because I'm one of the common people" schtick which worked fairly well with voters is IMHO a far larger part of why they've coalesced around him. Really doubt though that he'll be able to keep the schtick up now that the veneer has come off. So, it seems that decision will work about as well as Wile E. Coyote's schemes in the long run.
