This place has become a mess. I’m betting you wouldn’t even recognize it. Trash, crumbling infrastructure, homeless everywhere, horrific traffic, etc. The changes in the ‘Golden State’ are noticeable everywhere...and not for the better. Actually I went ‘home’ in February to LA. What a ***** mess. It was not a positive change. Hollywood was a trash heap. Worse than ever. The Beaches? Brutal. Spent time in SD and Silicon Valley too. If the US has a very high testing ratio per capita - it will push down the fatality "rate" the author uses as a good stat - which the insight dudes to extrapolate for the whole article. Different countries have different testing rates - which means you can't compare death rates.. Yes - we are bad...6 months plus into this thing...we have 10x the deaths per day than the EU - same population size, same intel, same virus, same timing. Speaking of not understanding .... The US Northeast had very similar rates to the 5 hotspots in Europe. The rest of the US also has very similar rates as the rest of Europe that wasn't hard hit. To translate it for you, 4 states in the northeast account for 15% of confirmed cases, but 35% of confirmed deaths, and have a 3 times the death rate of the other 56 states.
