Big Blitz
2 hours ago, ALF said: Some teacher unions threaten to strike if have to teach in regular class or older teachers can retire and cause a shortage. Vaccinate teachers , staff , bus drivers as a priority . They are getting vaccinated. It doesn't matter. The Unions are still saying its not safe to go back. Until.....??????????? I know I'm not getting jack ***t stuck in my arm until I hear the words "so we can get back to normal asap." And I'm not the only one. Now the State (most of them) agree with the unions. The ones run by the Ds (teachers) that put them in charge. Why? What grounds are they basing this on? They are telling all vaccinated basically "we have no clue what this is going to do." So until you see "ZERO" under cases on your fake news channel of choice, that distanced/half capacity/virtual school life is permanent. And since 50 million kids can't get it, and since no way are you vaccinating 150 million let alone 300 million, you will most definitely have cases....and deaths. Well into 2022 and beyond. By that point, what does the self imposed destruction of their profession and the kids futures look like? Going into YEAR THREE of Covid. At best all your public school kids are going to see for the next 3-5 years is half full schools and hybrid scheduling. The public going to appreciate this when their 6th grader can learn just as well watching YouTube Videos as they could whatever the hell it is they do now. Who will want their rising Kindergartener, 1st grader, or 2nd grader to deal with this anymore. "This" being put in a bubble twice a week or 4 days a week or whatever plague response protocol they've enacted. The Juniors and Seniors I'd say 1/2 or more are going to want full time virtual options instead. No reason for them to ever be in a building. Schools will happily oblige this bc less = more when you are worrying about discipline issues, transportation, etc. And if they want virtual options, why be handcuffed to District A when District B is better? Or any virtual option? Nice work all around give yourselves a virtual elbow bump everyone! Good job! Edited January 31, 2021 by Big Blitz

As of 11:00 AM today, New York's health care distribution sites have received 1,471,145 first doses and already administered 91 percent or 1,343,729 first dose vaccinations and 76 percent of first and second doses https://www.governor.ny.gov/news/governor-cuomo-updates-new-yorkers-state-vaccination-program-5 Supply does not meet the demand for those eligible

Some experts like Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School physician Dr. Abraar Karan have been advocating for public use of N95 masks from the start of the pandemic. In an interview with CNN Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Karan outlined why N95s are critical at this stage of the pandemic. "If for four weeks the country essentially wore these masks in those risky settings like that indoors, what kind of difference do you think it would make?" Gupta asked. "This would stop the epidemic," Karan responded. https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/22/health/face-mask-n95-coronavirus-transmission/index.html If only the CDC demanded the US build capacity to make these masks 24/7 at the start of the pandemic. I saw this a few days ago. I had some cuz I do wood working but I donated them in March. But I missed a couple. Gonna start wearing it now when I go out. I question that it would go away if implemented. The big hang up is it requires everyone to do it. Any plan that relies on everyone doing anything is doomed to failure. Especially in the times and country we live in. Saying FU to authority is a an American tradition and usually seen as a good thing. If even 20% of the population says no way, it will still spread and then after 4 weeks all the ones that did wear and stopped will be infected by those that don't. Can teachers legally strike? Whether teachers are legally allowed to strike varies from state-to-state. But in most places, striking is illegal . ... Teacher strikes are legal in 12 states and not covered in statutes or case law in three. That said, teachers do strike in states where it's illegal. Chicago Mayor Bends Knee to Teacher Union, Allows Remote Learning After Threat of Strike Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot reversed course on threats to lock Chicago teachers from accessing remote learning. Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot reversed course on threats to lock Chicago Public School teachers out of remote learning. The decision comes after teachers threatened to strike against the Mayor and school district, who both insist teachers return to classroom learning. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Lightfoot announced that the city and school district will continue negotiations with the Chicago Teachers Union while remaining remote. Lightfoot called the decision to allow teachers to continue remote learning “a gesture of good faith.” https://www.dailywire.com/news/chicago-mayor-bends-knee-to-teacher-union This country is so gone.
