cmon, this thread has devolved into "more antifa members than white supremacists members" so therefor Trump and right not as bad as the Dems? 

 

I know that was not what your point was @Buffalo_Gal , but that's where we are in this thread.

 

I think prolly 99.8% of people in the country, and on this thread, think the extremes on both sides are idiots and do not represent the various views we hold.

The Charlottesville protestors are not all hicks. Either way even the president was reluctant to criticize them. 

 

 

If by the "Charlottesville protestors" you are referring to the white supremacists who travelled from other communities in our nation to do that idiotic display, they were pretty much "all hicks."

I drove by their staging area prior to the beginning of that calamity, had to stop while they crossed a major road here, and in my lifetime I have never seen such a group that was more obviously "hicks."

They showed up and ran an incredibly stupid, intentionally provocative and intentionally racist march the night prior which had no other purpose than to incite trouble.

The folks who showed up as counter protesters were local by a vast majority and hardly the radical left.

 

Thanfully, the murderer has been convicted, and there are more convictions to follow.

Show me where the left has denounced antifa?

You (the left) have no problem calling Trump supporters racists. Why won't the left come out and publicly show there support for antifa. They do it behind closed doors.  Own up to your militant arm of the Democratic party.

He needs to push that. There cannot be many voters who think human trafficking is a good thing (IMO he's trying to squish too much into that tweet, stick with one theme, but I get why he does it).

There's an estimated 5000-8000 white supremacists in the US.  The largest party - National Alliance - claims 1500 members. 

 

Antifa is a movement more than a group, and as such is much more diffuse and undefined.  Those estimate range from 4000-175000.  A good proxy is probably socialist party membership - the PSL has a membership of approx. 30,000.  

 

But the nature of both groups means that membership tends to be very fluid (groups dissolve and reform, members belong to multiple groups or move from group to group.)  5000-8000 and 30,000 are hard numbers, but should be considered representative of order-of-magnitude estimates only (thus indicating that antifa and white supremacist numbers are roughly equivalent).  

 

In truth, no one really knows.

Yes. Trump should really go out on a limb as anti human trafficking. Should he also be anti child porn and against gas chamber killings? That would show such courage and leadership.
