Nope.  People will still be the same morons shelling out for oogie-boogie "science" marketed by charlatans.

Hey man... some NanoCrystal electricity... some electromagnetic propulsion...you and I could oogie-boogie our way into outer space...

...where no morons have ever gone before...

It's tempting to say the microwave was revolutionary.  It had so much potential when first released.

But really, all it revolutionized is popcorn.

That IS a major food group in our household, so I think that counts.

You could probably do popcorn on the stove with a pan & lid just as fast.

Just have fire extinguisher ready... Fire department on speed dial (rotary wall phone will do)...

...Be safe!

??

Honestly, this is the only way to do it.

In a pot

Melt the butter on the side and drizzle it on post-popping

Fresh and delicious

I remember back when I was a kid there was some kind of stove top popcorn.  It was kind of like a frying pan and when it was done it was like a giant tin foil dome full of popcorn.  I think it was called Jiffy Pop.  Or was it Jeffy Pop?  Damned Mendoza Affect

The current electric fence just turns them around. In fact, there are three fences in place:

Well... SUPPOSEDLY turn them around.

It must be a real pain to put those collars on all them fish.?

My oldest sister, 8 years my senior, was screaming one night downstairs. I ran down to find her with a grease fire on the stove as she made popcorn. She was yelling for me to open the %$#&ing sliding glass door from the dining room, which I immediately did. She had potholders on both hands and screamed at me to get the hell out of the way! I moved and she threw the blazing pot out the back door, only to have it bounce off the closed screen door! The flaming pot bounced straight back into the dining room and...........we ended up getting new carpet. NOT my fault.

Oh My!  I take that back, microwaves did revolutionize life!

If it was winter, throw it in a snowbank... The North is good for something!

Question. So when my balls are on fire, is it St. Elmo’s fire, or Great Balls of Fire?

Asking for a friend.

Is your friend a lady of the night?

If so, it might be something else...

Why does your friend want to know about your balls? Is this something you two share? Is it possible they are Slightly Below Average Balls of Fire? Too many questions here.....you’ll need to get more specific.

No.  Not really.  Electricity, radio, TV, how we travel, microwave, dishwasher... Stuff like that.

Maybe I am over simplifying it.

I can see robotics being revolutionizing.

This is an interesting topic, but what do all inventions really have in common?  They make our lives easier in some way.

I would consider in a few years self driving cars as a revolutionary item you speak of.  This fully fits with your TV, radio examples, because those both just changed how we listen to others, while a self driving car changes how we drive.

Others I can think of that fit in this discussion: Bluetooth, cordless power tools, Roomba (that's robotics), 3g then 4g and soon 5g, cellular phones. I'm sure there's a lot more it just has to be thought on a little longer.

Yep!

Got in a heated debate w/the BossWoman & Her Assistant (My Daughter) standing in line @ Meijer and then driving home. LoL...

They took the Augie argument.  I was in no good mood seeing the Bills getting rubbed out by the Packers via my phone.

It revolutionized nothing. All I had was a TV in my pocket, according to My argument... They saw differently.  On top of it, I was balancing the bank book while texting the local Bears fan chump @ work who was chirping about the Bears running roughshod over putrid Tampa D!

My argument... Nothing has changed... Except that I was out and about multi-tasking... I would have still been prickly & cross! LoL...

I Thanked technology for enjoying a Big Indian Brunch Buffet and shopping w/My two favorite Ladies while the game was on.

I had radio, TV, etc... All as one one in My pocket.  That's it.

Nikola Tesla predicted all this stuff in the 1920s.  The concept was there.

What intrigues me is how electromagnetic propulsion might be used in conjunction with NanoCrystal electricity.

So is there anything that is invented that is brand new? Unless we have scientifically discovered anti matter or have created a Quantum Leap accelerator there will never be a new invention.

And to Figster's point, if we can use the nanocrystal electricity and electromagnetic propulsion together well enough maybe we can get higher and faster roller coasters!

A new form of transportation will be.  An ability to live and work a physical job anywhere out of the standard commute zone that exists today.  Interstate was built over 60 years ago.  Or started.

Revolutionary will be not tied to than standard power grid, etc...

Bio tech... Surgery that's robotic, non-invasive...

Weather altering ability...  Break up, dissipate hurricanes, tornados before they strike.

But... What has been invented in the last 60 years that make our home life, chores around the house easier.  Talking brand new invention.

A shade over 60 years but I would say the transistor.   All electronic things are based on it today.   The next 60 it will be AI although its invention dates back to the late 50's.  Just so happens it took a lot of transistors to make it work well, so the big advance in that didn't really occur until Deep Learning.
