Peterman will never live down the 5-pick half . . .

So Peyton started his career as a HOF QB?  I think you missed the point of them "living down" those INTs by BECOMING HOF QBs.

I think you missed the point of a cavernous talent difference that made Manning the 1st pick in the draft with the expectation of a great career.

Tom Brady should of been picked top of the first round. It didn't happen. The NFL is sometimes unpredictable.

I knew it was just a matter of time before someone brought that up.    Brady never panicked like that even in his early days as a game manager. Are you predicting a Brady level career for Peterman?

He needs a nickname or a logo or something.

Five piece?

5x?

Could've been worse.........he had seven drives in that half:

-5 of them resulted in pics

-1 was just handoffs to McCoy for a TD(which I guess was the one drive he wasn't trying to be the anti-Tyrod)

-and the OTHER drive he fumbled a snap and then threw a would-be pic six that the Chargers CB dropped.    Should've been a six pack(which incidentally would not have sat well with him or his congregation as 6 is the number of the beast and so forth).

Is he not the best QB of his time? Any first round picks knocking him off the pedestal?

Brady had some attempt at blocking in front of him. Just sayin’

Did you see Allen coughing up the ball on Sunday even under heavy pressure?  Nope.  Peterman looked like a HS QB throwing the ball up for grabs.  It was shockingly bad.

And that has what to do with the beloved Mr. Peterman?

He has a better chance of being Tuel rather than Brady.

Never live it down in whose mind? Peterman has already let it go; certainly not an albatross as far as he goes. And that’s all that matters. I’m sure he could give two schits if anyone else can’t let it go.

It wasn't about Peterman as much as to say sometimes the NFL is unpredictable. It's a good thing because I wouldn't be a fan if everything was predetermined ahead of time.

We'll see when he's next between the white lines in real game action that could be in Baltimore on 9/9.

Of course that's what he's doing. That's what he has to do. But you're naive if you think that anyone in the media or sports reporting or the vast majority of casual football fans who are not advocates for Peterman are going to let this go.

I'll give you credit. A few people didn't want Tyrod benched for Peterman and I think I remember you being one of those people. You are justified to sound off.

And yet....Peterman is the better QB for game # 1. Allen needs a little time to get ready. If you could add the Allen arm to the Peterman brain, we overtake the Patriots  in a hurry.

So you don't think it bothers him in the least being asked about it constantly?

I think you are probably wrong about that.

It's nice that he has been able to compartmentalize it out......... but he's still shown a propensity to throw very interceptable balls to the most vulnerable place on the field.............short memory is for cornerbacks.........QB's need to know their limitations.

I was adamant that he wasn't ready, but he was far worse than I ever could have imagined. It was embarrassing.

A situation like that can sometimes fuel a person's drive to work harder or focus more.

I dont think Peterman needs to be Brady in order to be satisfied with his career.

Half wits need him to fail, so they can congratulate themselves on a message board.

I’m not naive about it at all as I know you’re right about the media, etc.. I just couldn’t care less what the media or casual fans use to define a player’s career. All that matters to me is how he gets off the mat and responds to the adversity. So far, so good in that regard. Other players may have been crushed completely after that. He seems to have used it to motivate himself. That’s a nice trait for a QB to possess.

Is he asked about it constantly? By whom? Anyway, no, I don’t think it bothers him; I think it motivates him if anything.

Yes, he still throws highly interceptable balls.

Yes, QBs need to play within themselves and their abilities.

And no, short memories are also required. QBs can’t let a bad play, series, or game impact their next play. They have no chance if they do.
