True all american. Thank you!

He should never be forgotten. He is one of the few NFL players who  got drafted and the only player killed during the Viet Nam war era. Rocky Bleier from the Steelers is someone who should be honored for his service on this day. He was wounded and returned to play. He's still alive.

The link is from a column written by Sally Jenkins. I don't want to focus on the flag debate but rather on the story of Rocky Bleier serving and getting wounded in VietNam.

Being a Vet, I don't think anybody asks for or expects any "thanks," but the "protesters" never think about why/how they are able to protest.  It's a little bothersome that our flag and anthem have become the false focus of a protest.

As another vet of the Vietnam era, people must remember that this day has been set aside for those who gave their live. Veterans day is when we honor the rest. Another to remember was the Arizona player KIA in afganistan.

The flag and anthem are not the focus of the recent NFL protests.  In fact, they have nothing to do with the protests.

As you point out, what separates America from lots of places is our ability to protest.  The more of it going on, the better America is working at being America.

Many here don't seem to get that.
