  1. By the thinking and definitions given, as I have read the posts, Kelly was not a "winner". He didn't win a championship at Miami, or a "Lombardi" in the NFL. Too bad he and Marino were just HOF "losers". Allen is remarkable and he may never win a "Lombardi", but that does not negate the fact that he is winner, i.e. one who wins.
  2. Brown had more than anyone in 12 games - 1863. in 1963
  3. Very true, but players who miss a year don't usually come back the same. QB's as they and we have discovered look good in college, but not in NFL right away. As long as Bill is coach, they will be formidable. Also, he hinders the growth of assistant coaches.
  4. The covid-19 virus has not killed or sent a healthy individual to a hospital yet. Rising case numbers do not portend doom and gloom.
  5. A Bills win this Saturday could push NE to #3 seed If KC wins out. This would be the beginning of the end for NE. Even if they win the wild card game at home, they would have to go to KC. We would go to Balt. after winning our wild card game. After that all bets are off, a win in Balt would send us to KC or NE for the AFC championship game. Point being NE having no rest period this year. See Buffalo championship years when playing games away from home.
  6. Teams that are losing like browns and falcons can be extremely dangerous, especially with the talent on the browns. Amen
  7. Tre not catching perfectly thrown interception with all green in front of him. Hauschka missing both field goal tries. Playing that stupid prevent defense.
  8. Been living in Florida since 1959, Miami to Daytona beach. Saw what Donna did in 1960 when in Mia. Went through the triplets in 2004, that was scary. All Canes are dangerous. If you live in low lying area find a place to get higher if it's on track to you. Otherwise stock up, stay inside. Make sure your generator is working and not inside your house. From there trust whatever God has planned for you.
  9. In years past starters would play for three quarters actually trying to simulate an actual season game. There was game planning, potential starters at each position, and an actual attempt to win the game. IMHO, not so anymore. After watching many games this week, I have come to the conclusion there is no more emphasis on this preseason game than any other. Starters go for maybe an entire half. Some players are being thrown in for the fist time, just to get reps. And as always players who are not going to make it get tape, hopefully to entice another team to pick them up. Dress rehearsals are supposed to be for perfecting performance for the actual event, not for still trying to figure out who will play, and who needs to see action. Forget game 4 and just practice for two weeks in preparation for the real deal.
  10. Our record of going to 4 consecutive Superbowls this year?
  11. Interesting to note, Patriots have two high quality opponents coming up- Vikings and Steelers -.They cannot afford a stumble against Miami. If so that would set up a division deciding game between us and them. Wouldn't that be a hoot?!!!
  12. Agreed, so why do so many want to sign someone who has no intention of signing
  13. Just caught your reply. My question was in September before he signed with the Panthers. I will look for your next comment in about a month again.
  14. For those clamoring for Kaepernick, I believe he has been offered contracts to play and has refused them because he only wants to be the starter and doesn't think the dollars are enough. It would probably hurt his case against the NFL if he signed a contract now. I am not an ESPN analyst so this only conjecture. On other item, He hasn't played in at least two years, so I don't know if would be anymore effective than what we already have.
  15. No this is the way the lockeroom steps up. These are men not sissy's. The offense is already offensive and the Defense has seen nothing from the other side yet, so why kill the future.
  16. I believe that we should trade Benjamin for whatever we can get. Zay jones is outplaying him as well as Holmes (cough!cough!). Maybe the other receivers will step up without him. As noted He's slow and doesn't run good routes.
  17. Since most would agree that this offense has been inept with or without Peterman, the likelihood of turning this season around now is highly unlikely. Let Peterman play until Allen is 100%. There is no sense in killing the "future".
  18. Would Reid fit us at safety and allow us to move a current safety to corner? My understanding is that we have one or two safeties who have played corner before. After the Davis debacle, would this be a good or bad idea for one year.
  19. And it really is filled with your opinions being projected. I read this board a lot and what I see from many is "I would do it this way". When we all become head coaches or professional players the we can better understand who or what is going on. McDermott is in his second year as a head coach, without star players, who managed to squeak into the playoffs his first year, ( which by the way Lynn with the stars did not). We were a sorry team, with many problems before He got here and it will take time to rebuild. In fact many in this forum have said exactly that. We all looked at the schedule to begin with and most believed we would go 1-7 or 0 - 8. George Allen,(for those who are to young, he coached the redskins in the 70's), said I don't play rookies, because for every rookie starter you can count 1 loss. So now we have two, having started Edmunds, Phillips, and Allen. One more to come, and we still play division games. Point being critiquing a team before the end of the first month is an exercise in futility. I personally did not expect and do not expect playoffs this year. I am only looking for improvement by year end.
  20. As another vet of the Vietnam era, people must remember that this day has been set aside for those who gave their live. Veterans day is when we honor the rest. Another to remember was the Arizona player KIA in afganistan.
  21. Just looked at Kelly's NFl career completion percentage. I am sure you are all aware that his carreer stats are 60.1% and that for the majority of the career he wasn't over 60% generally 58-59% range. I suspect many of you fans are from this drought era, and have been brought up to believe only stats, but stats alone don't win football games, players do.
