They have DOZENS and DOZENS of bridges spanning the Yangtze. That river is immense and well over a mile wide for much of it. They forced the farmers off their land when they did the three gorges dam project. They urbanized that population in high rises with window air conditioning units. The people walk around in western attire - Nike, Polo Sport, Adidas, etc. They built a viable and populous middle class.

These folks are never going back to the old ways. The CCP could face a lot of resistance going forward. They know their own history, the Red Guard, internment camps, re-education colonies, Tiananmen Square uprising etc. They’ve seen enough of the west to know we have a better life and they can have it too.

If they want to be private citizens, they can fund their own security, just like everyone else.

I give it another year before Harry decides that working for a living sucks, suddenly reconciles with his family, and agrees to once again become a paid 'senior royal'.

Anyone know why the Obama/Biden administration didn't replace the the PPE's, masks, etc. that were used up during the swine flu? You know, the virus that millions in the USA caught and 18000 died? The CDC did request they do so, twice.

How about Andrew Cuomo, who had a budget surplus turning down 15000 ventilators? Instead he chose to have his people come up with a protocol for rationing the use of those they had. Sorta like giving a death panel its marching orders, eh?

In a sea of bad news, hate for this to get lost: Keanon Lowe, the football coach & security guard who disarmed a distraught student at Parkrose High School last year, was awarded nation’s highest civilian honor, the Congressional Medal of Honor
