The Teddy Bridgewater Thread

All three of Minnesota's QBs (Bradford, Bridgewater and Keenum) are scheduled to become free agents as of March 14 (I think).  Minnesota will certainly try to extend one or two of the three before free agency begins, and let at least one go.  The QBs have to agree to this, of course, but the speculation is that Bradford is the most likely to be let go.  Case Keenum is probably the QB the Vikings will try the hardest to extend, so it is an unknown at this time whether Bridgewater will be available or not.

We just can't risk signing a qb with injury history. No to both Teddy and Sam. Either trade for Alex or sign Cousins to under 30M. AJ would be my 3rd choice if available?

Excellent analysis. Almost as good as the first post you made that equated him to Tyrod.

Who took a leak in your cheerios?

He throws more picks and less touchdowns and yards than Tyrod. He may take more chances over the middle of the field but id rather Tyrod than Teddy and a rookie over both.

Leak in my cheerios? What does that have to do with challenging your assertion that he's like Tyrod when their respective games are nothing alike.

Bridgewater wouldnt be a bad pickup if Taylor is released or traded.  He is similar to Taylor but imo he has more potential.  I would still go hard for a qb in the draft.  The only qb they bring in that is not making me go hars for a qb would be Cousins.

Yet you still haven’t said anything to back your claim.

Bridgewater is a rhythm passer who can read defenses with the ability to get the ball out with timing and anticipation within the structure of an offense on short to intermeidiate throws. He's not a great deep ball thrower and isn't a great runner/scrambler.  He is in many ways is a polar opposite of Tyrod.  Thus my challenge to your assertion.

In almost every category they are eerily similar.

Sacks taken Tyrod - 36, 42, 46 Teddy - 39, 44

Yards per game TT - 216.8, 201.5, 186.5

Teddy - 224.5, 201.9

Passer rating TT - 99.4, 89.7, 89.2 Teddy - 85.2, 88.7

Yards per attempt TT - 8.0, 6.9, 6.7 Teddy - 7.3, 7.2

Yards per completion TT - 12.5, 11.6, 10.6 Teddy - 11.3, 11.1

Key areas with extremely similar results

Which means that any other QBs are essentially the same player as them based on looking up stats if one follows this logic.

No not at all, I saw a lot of similarities in their game and the stats back it up.

Teddy may be a little more cerebral but their games were extremely similar prior to injury. I have no idea how Teddys legs will be now on bootlegs and scrambles.

If he ends up here fans will be complaining about the same things they are now.

I'm not sure what you looked at because they play the position differently.

I agree with most of what you’re saying.

The main difference between him and TT is the potential Teddy has.

He is 3 years younger and has barely played in the NFL.

TT has reached his ceiling and we know what he is.

But yes as of now in terms of production, I don’t think there is a big difference between him and TT
