I think that frustration leads to some pretty reactive comments. Fans always said the Bills needed to clean house. They did. Now instead of sucking like everyone predicted they're in the hunt. And because they are overachieving fans now judge them more critically and have lost the patience they might have been willing to give if we were 2-11 instead of 7-6.

 

If you take a step back,  this season is a bonus. A rebuilding year that looks more like a competing year. Someone pointed out the Bills have never been under .500 this year. When has that happened last? Yet some are ready to fire the coach. (Okay, just a few knuckleheads.) 

 

So don't sweat it. Enjoy it.

MIAMI DOLPHINS AT BUFFALO BILLS (OVER/UNDER 38.5)

Pick: Bills 23-17 (the over hits)

Point (EE): This isn’t 1993, and while there’s always a chance that poor weather can play a part in Buffalo (as it did last week), you’re going to have to go out of your way to convince me that any game is more-than-likely to go under a number this small. If (as it appears) Tyrod Taylor starts the game on Sunday, he, Charles Clay and LeSean McCoy give the Bills more than enough firepower to put up their end of the bargain on the scoreboard. The Dolphins have found something of a groove offensively in recent weeks; both in the air and on the ground. Running back Kenyan Drake (78.1), like Jay Ajayi before him, is leading qualifying running backs in yards per carry after contact (4.7), which should continue against a Bills team that is surrendering the 12th-most yards per carry defensively (4.2), a number that has gotten worse since they traded Marcell Dareus midseason.

 

Counterpoint (GC): While I tend to think football is a sport played by those with grit, Jay Cutler, allegedly, has a tendency to display lackluster effort at times. If there was ever a situation, 28-degree weather in Buffalo should do the trick. Should Cutler start kicking rocks down the field and the Dolphins revert to the team that failed to crack 21 points in five of their first six games we could be in trouble. Cutler currently has twice as many turnover-worthy throws as he does throws that earn our highest level of grade, which is the worst ratio in the entire league, not exactly inspiring. Since my everyday life seems like it’s pretty analogus to football, let me tell you that when it’s freezing outside and I need 16 layers before I can build up the courage to spend five minutes outside, I have really struggled to score touchdowns and the extra clothing limits my throwing motion quite a bit.

Another oddity is that some TT fans I used to “argue” with have seen the light and are now being called haters because they have seen enough of TT and are ready for a switch.  

 

We all wanted to see Taylor to succeed.   His game has not improved enough for people to keep the faith.

If Miami played like they did last week all season, they’d be one of the league’s best teams.  It won’t happen 2 weeks in a row.

 

Not saying it won’t be a tough divisional game, but on a short week after an emotional upset win, and traveling north, I like our chances.  Cutler will revert to form.

I'm not DD's agent, have no idea if he's legit or not but so far I'm just impressed by his accuracy.

I don't  know if the guy has inside info or not.  I surely will not mock him or say that he doesn't.  However, its pretty easy to come to those kind of conclusions and make an educated guess type statement.

Let’s see a lot of running tomorrow. 25-30 carries for shady, 5-10 from Tyrod, 3-5 from Joe Webb from the wildcat a few from Tolbert and Cadet. Run it until they show they can stop it.

Fairburn's prediction

Season record: 7-6

This is a tough game to predict. The Bills' offense hasn't been doing enough to hold up its end of the bargain. Particularly, the passing offense has struggled in the more often than not. The Dolphins could be due for a let down after beating the Patriots on Monday Night Football, but they also look like they are hitting their stride as a team and are desperate for a win. Miami's offense is hotter at the moment, so they're my pick.

Prediction: Dolphins over Bills
- Despite having a worse record than the Bills, the Dolphins — based on the way they’ve been playing and how it seems like they’ve started to figure things out for themselves this late in the season — have the more dynamic team heading into the week. The Bills are really going to struggle with the combination of Drake and Landry, and that could ultimately be what does them in on Sunday. However, anytime Jay Cutler is involved in a game, he’s shown a tendency to just have a complete clunker of a game that results in turnovers and multiple opportunities for the opponents to score points on shortened fields. The Bills secondary will have to hope that they can force Cutler into that version of himself, to really give this struggling offense a chance to pull ahead early in the game, and then effectively play keep-away with the ball as they run out time with LeSean McCoy. At the end of it, however, the lack of passing prowess for the Bills and the Drake-Landry combination and how they match up with the Bills’ defense is what leads me to the Dolphins picking up a victory over the Bills Sunday.
