That was Ford.

Um yeah.... Ford started the process but was helpless, as was Carter, to reduce inflation.  Reagan solved it.  At a cost but you can't have everything.

Not to quibble, but Paul Volcker at the independant Fed is far more responsible than Reagan.

While it happened on Reagan's watch, the Volcker recession, brought about by keeping rates that the Fed could control high, is what changed the course.

Reagan constantly fought for spending cuts, and didn't get them, resulting in his repeated calls for the line item veto.

To get his military budgets approved, he signed off on increased spending.

He had the right idea, but Volcker was the single cause of the end of Jimmy Carter's "misery index."

And was Carter who appointed Volcker. And I believe he appointed him knowing full well what the plan was

Dead wrong.

There is nothing in Carter's economic performance that indicated any wisdom on economics.

No economic skill. No military skill. No political skill.

Cost us money. Cost us lives. Cost us prestige.

Carter left the US a shithole in basically every conceivable category

he didn’t have a clue and after Watergate and Vietnam that was understandable

and fortunately Reagan rescued the country

SNL put on a sketch of Carter telling the people to fight inflation by throwing any spare paper money on hand into the fireplace

and it wasn’t really that surreal

He was so unqualified and over his head

Chalk it up to the blind squirrel moment. Volker implemented his policies starting in the Carter admin.   Of course it's not like he followed Carter's directions.

Nancy Pelosi previously lavished praise on former President Barack Obama’s $40 payroll tax cut, "but now dismisses the $1,000 bonuses doled out by corporate America as a result of the recently signed GOP tax overhaul.

The wealthy California lawmaker called legislation extending a $40 payroll tax cut in 2011 a “victory for all Americans” and attributed the accomplishment to “Obama’s leadership.”

“160 million Americans will continue to receive their payroll tax cut — nearly $40 per paycheck in the pockets of the average family. I salute the work of the unified House Democratic caucus on behalf of the American people,” Pelosi said of the tax cut in 2011"

So, $2,400 per family and 2 million people getting at least $1,000 in Trump bonuses is "crumbs".

And she doesn't have the guts to call doggy-doo "****" in public.

And Trump's a bigot for saying shithole in a private meeting. Dick Durbin is truly a Dick and he is an **** to boot.

Skelator (Pelosi) James Brown (Waters) Cuck (Schumer) Harris (whore) are all you need to know about the Dems.

Brain cells are obviously on option with them.

Feds Collect Record Taxes Through November; Still Run $201.8B Deficit

By Terence P. Jeffrey | December 12, 2017 | 2:36 PM EST

The federal government collected record total tax revenues of $443,715,000,000 in the first two months of fiscal 2018 (Oct. 1, 2017 through the end of November), according to the Monthly Treasury Statement.

Despite these record tax revenues, the federal government still ran a deficit of $201,761,000,000 for those same two months.

That is because the government spent $645,476,000,000 in October and November.

"Taxing the Rich" slogan is B.S. ...................................SPENDING is ALWAYS the problem.
