Another good trumpet on this tune (Also doesn't hurt to be playing with Joe S. and Grace Potter) cover of Neil Youngs "Cortez the Killer" 1

muppy
I was listening to sirius XMU their indie radio channel and the band my son played bass for came on the radio lol. That was cool and random because the song has been out for years. The blonde ripper he is playing was destroyed in hurricane sandy. Their practice space flooded all their equipment and mics, everything kerplunk. #blonderipper Edited October 23, 2021 by Muppy
gdabillsfan
While we're keeping things relative , here's a couple from my nephew. This is his band, Akashic Record This next one is from 10 foot Ganja plant (a side project of the horn section, when he was with John Brown's Body) his solo (trombone)starts around 1:40

Jauronimo
I have surprisingly enjoyed this whole album. It was mixed by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross of Nine Inch Nails.

gdabillsfan
Sorry for monopolizing this thread, I get a little carried away sometimes when sharing music (especially when it's my sister's kids music) Anyway how about some good old Texas blues now

We used to be in front row just shamelessly flirting with Freebo and we made him Blush LMAO great memory. A white dude with an afro who played tuba I even named a cat after him LMAO TMI mup TMI I like Bruce Hornsby and it looks like he worked with her quite a bit over the years. Not a song I'd listen to often but a very good one

Poignant and sad for me but great song nonetheless

So sad that only his photo is present on cover. Very gifted, he might be most talented of the 27 club. Don't mess with the Hook. Hooker talking about Pigpen is hilarious. And Hook praises Blind Owl. "I dig this cats harmonica...I don't know he follow me, but he do...I see I can't lose ya I can’t lose him. He musta listened to my records all his life" 'Alan..Alan. Blow your horn, baby!' Don't forget to boogie I saw John Lee Hooker open for Blues Hammer back in 2000. If you like some "way down in the delta blues" you'll love Blues Hammer. "I've been PLOWWWWIN'.......pickin' cotton all day long".

We saw her at finger lakes a few years ago and she put on a good show. In a similar vein we saw Lucinda Williams in the Geneva Opera House around the same time, don't think she is as talented as Bonnie, but I love her bluesy voice.
