Per agent Dave Rich, all charges were dropped for former #Cowboys WR Lucky Whitehead. Warrant rescinded. Cops had the wrong guy.

The statement, expressing regret, from Prince William County Police Sergeant Jonathan L. Perok on the situation surrounding Lucky Whitehead

Spoke to Paul Ebert, Commonweath's Atty in Prince Wm County. They reviewed video, other evidence. Determined Lucky Whitehead wasn't arrested

Ebert confirmed all charges against Whitehead dropped (as agent told @RapSheet). Said man arrested had no ID but knew Lucky's DOB/SSN.

The guy arrested gave Lucky's name, address, dob, ss#. But it wasn't him? Plane tickets show he wasn't even in the state at that time. Something strange going on here. How can the cops not know who they arrested?

Well no ID. Likely it was a family member knowing all that information

So how many games is he suspended for this?

My Question is how do the Police arrest someone and not Mug Shot them or Finger Print them?

It's possible that the person never been arrested before and in that situation all they can go off of is verbal info. Had he been arrested there would be no way for him to use someone else's name. His fingerprints would've brought up his picture and prior arrest info along with current or previous addresses

@JosinaAnderson

Text from #Cowboys source to me on WR Lucky Whitehead, whose agent just said the charges against him were rescinded: "We've moved on."

[Cont.] #Cowboys source adds on WR Lucky Whitehead: "Just time to improve the roster from an ability and team culture standpoint."

[Cont] Asked the #Cowboys source if they were concerned about a grievance from WR Lucky Whitehead they replied, "No. Dealing with ability."

Poor Lucky but this is funny.

The Cowboys had so much crap going on with their players already that they figured they wanted this latest to just go away so they can focus on football.

Now they made it much worse! This was a minor issue but now it is national news and they look very silly. :lol:

I love it.

Kind of hypocritical IMO. They have quite a few players on their roster with "character flaws" and legal troubles (they almost seem to make a point of acquiring guys like that...), yet use that as more/less an excuse to release Lucky (even though it was a false arrest).
