Pitino suspended 5 games for Louisville escort scandal

I see nothing wrong with bringing in entertainment for the team. Typical NCAA overreach.

...Meanwhile North Carolina still sits out there in the longest investigation in history and no outcome.

Because the NCAA can't tie the academic scandal to athletics -- namely, men's basketball. And that won't change.

Not going to lie....if I was a top recruit and a program got me hot escorts on my visit....I'm signing there.

I get that as I was once 17. But I suspect if you're really a top prospect, you don't need to pay to get yours. If you're a smart top prospect, you may realize sanctions come with that behavior. They got off easy. Is there a "Hot for Louisville" thread yet? Many of these kids are minors. Jail time might be a real option if they really took it seriously. (I freely admit to being anti-Pitino and Louisville.)

I'm sorry, people want to pretend history didn't happen because someone hired some strippers?

Oh, it happened. I don't think anyone is questioning that. (Except maybe some folks who think we've never walked on the moon, but that's another story.) Players and fans still have their memories, and no one can take that away. The real story is that it was happening with players recruited not only against NCAA rules, but against the law. Providing sex for under aged people (5 star recruits or not) can land you in jail. (See the Hot For Teacher threads.) It's an unfair inticement, considered the same as paying for a car. They leave the moral judgement out, but it's still against the rules. And Pitino is still a douche.

Bravo. Well stated.

Pitino and Petrino. Louisville exudes class.

While I'm not a Pitino fan, I'm glad he's there because my coach (Chris Mack at Xavier) had no interest in Indiana or OSU this off-season, but Louisville might be different for family reasons. I do LOVE that guy! (And if he got that opening for 2-3 times the pay, I'd forgive him.)
