The Media's Portrayal of Trump and His Presidency

CBS used color adjustments to make Steve Bannon look bad. :o

“It seems like 60 minutes would like you to listen less and look more at Steve Bannon. By subtly tweaking the color of the video, they make him look like a bleary-eyed drunk. I show you how they did it,” writes Duke on the video’s YouTube page.

He said a few pretty silly things. If Trump's stupid wall got built he would be really popular now and that immigrants were not a major factor in building the country.

What was the big genius in pointing out that Rather's letter was printed in perfect justification in a font that wasn't invented for at least 25 years after the letter was said to be written?

LGF was at the forefront of outing that lie. It had some legs for many days after Rather slandered W with it. Not Johnson is just a nutter. IMHO.

Dan still insists the spirit of truth was in the document.

We couldn't have invented that scam pulled on CBS News.

This is CNN.

This ABSURD Tweet From CNN's Chris Cillizza Tells You Everything You Need To Know About Media Bias

If you ever wondered whether there was media bias, wonder no more.

In one tweet on Wednesday morning, CNN’s Chris Cillizza alleviated all concerns on that score with one astonishing tweet:

The @TODAYshow did Ted Cruz porn video and Seattle mayor resignation in its first 10 minutes.
Banner day for politicians!

4:31 AM - 13 Sep 2017

Now, in case you missed the context here, the “Ted Cruz porn video” is a mistakenly liked tweet by one of Cruz’s interns depicting people having sex. The “Seattle mayor resignation” is a fifth allegation of sex with male minors forcing the resignation of Seattle Mayor Ed Murray.

In other words, one of these stories is pure stupidity, and the other is alleged serial sexual misconduct with minors.

But if you just saw Cillizza’s tweet, you’d think that Cruz was involved in making a porn video, and the Seattle mayor was stepping down to spend time with the family.

Bias anyone ?

Lol, you really have to dig deep to try and discredit the news. This is why Republicans have a hard time governing. Winning elections with lies is one thing, but actually trying to make policies when you have to deal with reality is another thing. And since it seems Republicans are victims of believing their own propaganda, they end up with Paul Ryan, Mitch and Trump pointing fingers and saying real stupid things.

I miss the days when your stupidity displayed even a tenuous grasp of reality.

ASSOCIATED PRESS SAYS: DON’T CUT TAXES!

The Associated Press is one of many “news” outlets that has gone into overt opposition, now that we have a Republican rather than a Democrat in the White House.

Today’s AP “Top News” feature is headlined: Doubts arise on whether corporate tax cut would boost growth. The passive voice is generally a giveaway. Where, exactly, are doubts “arising”?

News flash for the AP: the “left-leaning Center on Budget and Policy Priorities” is in favor of higher taxes, all the time. Their doubts didn’t just “arise.”

{SNIP}

The AP acknowledges in passing that many economists agree with Trump, but goes on to make the case against tax cuts. It cites arguments in favor of corporate tax cuts, then goes to a series of liberals to rebut them: the “nonpartisan Tax Policy Center,” which is a joint venture of the liberal Urban Institute and the liberal Brookings Institution; “the left-leaning Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy;” and “Larry Summers, a Democratic former Treasury secretary.”

The Democratic Party is, of course, entitled to oppose corporate tax cuts. But unlike the Republicans, the Democrats get to make their arguments in the guise of news stories promulgated by the “nonpartisan” Associated Press.

Trump at the UN and the Emmys

by Roger L Simon

Donald Trump was center stage Tuesday at the United Nations and, by proxy, Sunday night at the Emmys, but only one of those events was the slightest bit interesting -- and it wasn't the Stephen Colbert-hosted awards ceremony cum bash fest replete with puerile humor and junior high school politics (apologies to seventh graders).

One wonders what the Emmys crowd thought of the UN speech. On second thought, one doesn't. One knows. They thought it was a display of ogreish war-mongering by a Neanderthal. Just precisely what most of the MSM and the Democratic Party -- the duo from whom Hollywood gets their marching orders -- thought, or said they thought.

{SNIP}

But because he is a reality star, Trump knows something that politicians rarely realize: Don't hide. Just tell the truth about your opinions. Be honest to yourself and the world. And that's what he was -- amazingly -- in front the United Nations, an organization so used to diplomatic double-talk, indeed built on diplomatic double-talk, you thought for a moment they would open up an elevator chute and drop him through.

It's one thing to call out North Korea. Everyone knows they've gone a little over the edge. But attacking socialism itself -- when half the audience are socialists of some stripe or another, or claim to be? Not done.

But he did it, and bravo. He also called out Russia (Ukraine), China (South China Sea), the UN's (Orwellian) Human Rights Council, Venezuela (the socialism thing), radical Islamic terrorism, Iran (the most "embarrassing" deal the US ever made -- and it is) and, of course, North Korea (Rocket Man!).

Does all this add up to anything? Yes, probably. World leaders watching this realize that America is being led by someone with actual convictions who may, just may, act on them. There's a switch after eight years of Obama when no one thought America would do much of anything -- and indeed it didn't, even when confronted by the horror of chemical weapons.

Trump at the UN and the Emmys

by Roger L Simon

Was listening to some pop station of Sirius XM the day after the Emmys, and as he was about to introduce a song, he essentially said "So last night's Emmy snoozefest turned into three hours of bashing our president. I hope they remember one day that we watch to see artists perform their songs. Anyway, here's an artist who had a big night..."

‘Ridiculously misleading’: The Hill left something out of this tweet about Betsy DeVos

DeVos uses private jet for work-related travel http://hill.cm/vqjtIYJ

But there’s just one problem. Something missing from The Hill’s tweet:

You might want to mention in your headline that she pays for it herself.

It does mention it in the story, but to the Gator/Baskin/Pasta readers, who seldom go past the headline, it gets the job done.

Alternate headline: Devos saves taxpayers money

The NBA Champion Warriors are set to meet to decide whether or not to accept an invitation to the White House.

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/20781198/golden-state-warriors-plan-decide-team-whether-visit-white-house

Were I President I'd hurry and rescind the invitation before the meeting...saves everyone a lot of trouble and deprives the media of yet another bash opportunity.

I wouldn't put it past him, to be honest. Not for the reason you suggest, but to avoid embarrassment.

Look at what happened when he blew off the corespondents' dinner. Pretty much no one paid attention to it except for HuffPo, etc. and he avoided looking stupid.
