They have no choice but to continue down this path because if they pull back now, they'll be exposing that the rest has been a lie. This has been the brilliance of the counterintelligence sting, in my mind. It's forced their hands. It's forced them to do exactly what we'd expect (go on a book tour, doubling down in public statements etc etc). This has always been about leveraging public opinion to delegitimize the election results and the opposition presidency. That hasn't changed; the public statements and talk-show circuits are still part of that operation.
