Trump's leadership team

So long, Bannon.

Looks like Trump is listening to the more sane people in his inner circle.

This is a good thing, though I'm not sure it implies everything you (and I) would have hoped.

Bannon is said to have asked off the committee, has only attended a single meeting to date, and has his choice for NSA sitting on the council now. He's also still a part of Trump's inner circle, and still holds all of his clearances.

So long, Bannon.

Looks like Trump is listening to the more sane people in his inner circle.

This article explains what the deal was and it's no big deal:

http://www.cnbc.com/2017/04/05/steve-bannon-reportedly-removed-from-national-security-council-in-reorganization.html

In late January, Bannon was given a full seat in a move that downgraded the roles of the chairman of the Joint Chiefs and the director of national intelligence. It is a highly unusual to give a political advisor a seat on the committee.

President Donald Trump sparked concerns with the move to make Bannon, the former Breitbart News chairman and driving force behind Trump's nationalism and populism, a permanent member.

Bannon originally served on the committee as a check against Michael Flynn before Flynn was ousted as National Security Advisor, a top White House official told NBC News. However, Bannon only attended one meeting and felt he was no longer needed in that role after the selection of H.R. McMaster as national security advisor.

McMaster, who Bannon wanted in the role, was given authority to reorganize the committee when he joined the White House, according to NBC.

The change also downgrades the role of Homeland Security advisor Thomas Bossert.

A senior White House official told NBC this was not a power struggle. The official said the White House was bringing back more of a George W. Bush-era-type NSC. The council will be more streamlined and the decision making more deliberative, the official said.

So you literally have Ozy as an important representative in the White House.

As stories about Jared Kushner and Steve Bannon being at odds in the White House continue to bubble up, it was only a matter of time before they started to get more personal. That happened on Thursday afternoon, when The Daily Beast reported that while they’re bickering plenty to each other’s faces, it gets even worse when Bannon is badmouthing Kushner to others. Specifically, his pet names for Kushner have allegedly been “globalist” and “cuck.”

Politico tells us that there’s an escalating “civil war” between Trump loyalists and establishment Republicans throughout the federal government, “and increasingly the president’s allies are losing.” At this point in the administration, one former campaign aide is quoted saying, “it is very obvious that no one cares what happens to the people who worked for the campaign or who have loyalty to the president.”
The political situation in America is still perilous, but there is finally a tiny crack of light in the black cloud hanging over Washington, D.C. We might be seeing the berserk horror of Trumpism giving way to the slightly lesser horror of normal conservatism.
Things are, of course, still bad. Nunes’ replacement on the Russia probe is Mike Conaway, a Texas Republican who compared the Russia scandal to Democrats using Mexican entertainers at campaign events, since both involve “foreign people” influencing the vote. Several of the figures gaining the upper hand in the administration are ambitious plutocrats rather than fascist weirdos, which is an improvement if not exactly a cause for celebration. All the same, we can take a tiny bit of comfort in realizing that Trump has been unable to suspend all the norms governing American political life.
The House investigation into the Russia scandal will now proceed, and while other Republicans will surely be tempted to cover for Trump, Nunes, in his disgrace, will serve as a warning against blatantly breaking rules on the president’s behalf. Meanwhile, if Bannon’s fortunes continue to decline, so will a certain sinister mystique that’s surrounded the administration, a sense that it can create its own reality and act with impunity. With Jared, Ivanka, and former Goldman Sachs executives Dina Powell and Gary Cohn forming a socially moderate but powerful faction inside the White House, it must sting for Bannon to realize that after all he did to elect Trump, the globalist cucks are suddenly ascendant.

Has he been removed from his position? Has he lost his clearances? Is he not able to walk into the oval whenever he wishes with Trump's open door policy?

I guess you can choose to believe who you want to believe, the party line or what's transpired over the last 24 hrs. Funny how you're totally fine believing the party line when it suits your POV.

I believe the facts. And the facts are he still has his title, clearances and the ear of Trump.

I don't have a POV on this issue or Bannon btw.

Yup. Until he's actually fired, removed from his position and has his clearances revoked, he's still a part of team Trump.

Saying otherwise is speculative, which is my point.

He will be. A little bird told me.

What a shame the liberal/progressive/anarchist/deranged idiots are forcing the government to spend that money on protecting a woman when the money could better go to charter schools. :fusmiley:
