Sticky of Bills' moves - N'th week of FA

They are going to be sitting out of all of FA. They need 5MM to sign rookies. That is pretty much all the cap space they have IIRC.

Losing a lot of depth and not gaining anything. This is concerning a bit to me.

Getting a bit ahead of ourselves? There are still more contract moves coming, signing Cordy to a LT deal and possibly extending Gilmore that will free up another $5-$6 mil. Kyle Williams remains the wild card. Is he worth the $6.5 million cap hit? In any event, I wouldn't be surprised to see Devito as a Bill, who would provide quality NT play at a reasonable price.

There is going to be much better value next week and even more later in the summer. The depth they lost is easily replaced by street FAs.

Wrong, wrong, wrong GG. It's time to freak out! The FO have irrevocably savaged the roster in order to insure they have enough money left to have sprinkles on the doughnuts at all their meetings this year.

Not panicking, but hey lets take things to the extreme.

The Bills did not make the playoffs as we all know. They have not gotten better yet. They lost some good depth. They have a limited number of resources to do so, much less than most other teams.

A bit concerning

It hasn't been 72 hours yet. The first week is always crazy. Do you think that Ron F'ng Brooks is worth $2 million/year? How much better was his play than Butler's, who clocks in at $600K? That's why smart teams sit out the first week, because it's crazy money that tends to harm teams over a long term.

Bradham was a quality player, but his production is easily replaceable. Same for Leo, Charles & Hogan if he goes.

The Bills' core is intact, yet all these moves pale to the main question of whether TT is a true franchise QB.

Not crazy about Hogan going to the Pats. He's not vital to the Bills, but him playing for NE -- where I think he'll do well -- hurts the Bills. The rest of 'em? Yeah, no big losses. I liked McKelvin as depth, but nothing more than that. Bradham is a dime-a-dozen.

Yes, a bit concerning, mainly because we are up against the cap, and we cannot count on being able to sign many free agents to replace the players that we have lost. The draft will not be able to fill all holes.

@mikerodak

The Bills have restructured the contract of K Dan Carpenter, opening a small chunk of cap space. I’ll have more details soon.

Bills K Dan Carpenter’s base salary was lowered from $2.025M to $1.775. The team might have also tweaked a $250k roster bonus due this week.
