Very interesting read

My thoughts too.

Seriously though, while I think his input could be helpful, I wonder about his age and really just generally if his advice will help in today's NFL. Bottom line is that he's giving his opinion, and while the NFL has been his business for years and years and he's had success, it doesn't mean that everything he says is right. It's still just his opinion in the end...

Sounds like Pegs has been talking to him regardless and we still are where we are.

Last point, can I go back and laugh at the 160 hours at $500 per hour post? You couldn't hire ME for that price and I'm only going to consult on your marketing! :D

Per usual though, it's going to be a heck of an interesting offseason

We may have nine players who are 30+, but it does not seem they are the types to provide leadership.

lawson

Wood

Urbik

Mario

McKelvin

Graham

Incognito

Kyle

Can't think of the 9th offhand

All but Mario and McKelvin appear to be leaders. Urbik is a depth player so doesn't count IMO. Both Mario and Leo will be gone next year. I don't see an issue. Jmo.

Richie, Corey Graham, Mario, Kyle, Leodis, Lawson, Sanborn, Urbik, and Carp. Leader types in bold.

I said in an earlier thread "Thanks for the 90s Bill, but please stay and ESPN." I stand by that.

the issue to me is that instead of hiring a czar who would be held accountable for putting the plan in action and the results of the plan, they would be paying him for the plan and then Whaley carries out the plan, one that he may or may not agree with, and is held accountable for the results. Um no thanks. If that happens and I am Whaley, I walk out the door. Maybe that's not what Polian is proposing would happen but it sounds like it, since he doesn't want an actual job with the Bills.

Click on the link if you have not. Polian seems to have a pretty strong position on Rex as well. Not good for Rex....

i read it. I had no doubt that he wouldn't like Rex. He's never liked him. He likes guys who are boring and make no waves. He cannot stand anyone who isn't exactly a certain type of person. That's just who he is. Lots of posters here hate Rex too so it's all good but Rex is the exact opposite of anyone Bill would hire for any job.

He also drafts and signs certain types of players. Many on this roster wouldn't be here. Shady, incognito, Darby, etc. nope. Too many red flags. Until he has a Peyton or Kelly at QB, he needs those guys. He has a ton of draft misses for that reason. Telesco is his mini me in SD and has exact same draft record because of his stubbornness on only drafting and signing a certain character type.

Bill and I have that in common. I hate to fire a coach after one year, but it's painful watching this dumpster fire.

I'm thinking he might.ht have some good ideas on how or where to get one of these guy.

And if we hired him as a consultant and he gave us his recommendations, we could ignore them if they sucked. I mean, its not like he's in the Hall of Fame.

i would absolutely take his recommendation on which QB to draft. Yes. Didn't mean to imply that I wouldn't. His QB plan is the same as Whaley's anyway.

I don't think they should listen to anything Polish has to say at all. They can get much more informed opinions by perusing this message board. Emotionally charged fan analysis > HOF FO analysis.

Yeah, everything he says is right. The old age of the offensive line is the problem. Never mind that, when healthy, four starters range from an ancient 22-29 and the eldest member, 32-year-old Incognito, is either the group's best or second-best player.

The Bills and a large chunk of their fans living in the '90s got old awhile ago.

I'm with you. He hasn't had a team in the Super bowl in almost 6 years. He has less than nothing to offer.

Is prime Peyton Manning coming with him? Notice the team Polian built collapsed in utterly embarrassing fashion once Manning got hurt. The guy was a great executive for a while. His recent track record says that's no longer the case.

You mean the great Jim Sorgi could carry forward the success?
