Storm Front
CJ Spiller only played 6 snaps yesterday. He has 22 attempts for 86 yards on the season. Genius Sean Peyton isn't just failing to get him into space, he is failing at getting him onto the field. Weird, just weird.

He's primarily a receiving back, and you can't not include his receiving stats when making an assessment. He has 24 catches for 198 yards and 2 TDs, which isn't bad - he's on pace for 45 catches. K-9
His lack of blocking ability makes him a liability. Imo Funny you mention that because Spiller absolutely ruined a guy in blitz pickup yesterday. The commentators mentioned it, too. Didn't get to see the replay because it was a quick look in on the Red Zone channel. GO BILLS!!!
Billsfan1972
Both TD's were huge.... One an 80 yarder to win in OT and the other tied the game @ 49 vs. NYG......

I hate to suggest this, but is it possible that maybe, just maybe Spiller isn't as good as some TBDers think he is? His lack of production has always been excused away as the fault of the coaches not knowing how to use him. When he signed with New Orleans, we heard "Oh Man, Payton is an offensive genius, Spiller is going to be awesome this year because Payton will finally use him correctly". Well, that's not happening. So what's the excuse now? Spiller is, was and always will be a bust. #9 overall pick. Absolutely terrible pick by the Bills.

No. It makes much more sense to just assume that three consecutive coaches, two lauded for their offensive creativity, simply can't figure out a way to maximize his other-worldly skill set that only we fans recognize. When you say he was always a bust, were you watching when he had a 1700 all-purpose yard, 8 touchdown season, averaging SIX YARDS per carry on over 200 touches? That was awesome, every time he touched the ball we were all wondering if he was going to get that hole and blow it open. Fun to watch for sure. Definitely an inconsistent career, multiple injuries and different coaches, but to say he was always a bust implies he never had any success and that's simply not true. It's his sixth year in the league. Pointing out that one of those seasons was above average does not make him a non-bust. Maybin had six sacks in 2011. That would have been good enough to lead the Bills. Non-bust? No.
Chandler#81
Add his contract to J. Byrds and the Saints are paying Suh $$ for Buffalo cast always and getting NOTHING in return. I doubt they ever sign a former Bill again.
