TT Contract--Florio Stirring the Pot

Anyone else see this? Florio's already saying that TT should push for a new contract before he's ever started a down for us. What a tool. Good to see that he carries the Pats*' water on things beyond Deflategate--who else gets helped more by trying to stir up such a controversy where there is none?

This from a guy who said Taylor wasn't good enough to be a starter because he was a backup. Edited by PromoTheRobot

Jesus you are thin skinned on anything even remotely able to be skewed to be patriots related.

This is a stretch even by that low standard though

Particularly true that he should get his money ASAP then Edited by NoSaint

Another thing, this is Tyrod's 2nd contract. This is the contract where QBs get PAID, like Tannehill and Wilson this past year. Tyrod is pretty much at minimum. His agent knows that if Tyrod kills it the next 3 years, he'll only get one more big-time contract. They're trying to squeeze some more money out while they can.

Florio has close relationships with a number of agents - it's how he gets many of his "scoops." This sounds like something TT's agent fed Florio to begin the process of pressuring the Bills to pony up a bit - they're sitting on some excess cap room, just gave out a fat contract to Dareus, and have the lowest-paid starting QB in the league.

Tyrod's agent might have called Florio and gave him an idea for an article.

Didn't Russell Wilson play for chump change for 3 years? Let the man play a couple games before we pay him more money for no reason.

He was on a 3rd round rookie contract that took them to the SB 2 times. He had more leverage to just keep playing instead of arguing for a new contract. TT will get his if he earns it. His incentives are pretty good considering and would have no reason to sit out or hold out.

Its a legitimate article. People like you make it seem like all bills fans are butthurt.

Jesus, just citing sources in a real situation that is relevant. But he shouldn't do it because why? Grow up

No it's a stupid idea because he hasn't played in a real game yet for the Bills. And his contract has language in it for if he becomes a starter.

Tyrod's contract gives him all sorts of escalators if he plays more than 50% of the snaps, so he won't exactly be playing for Wilson-style chump change.

The Bills should hurry up and reno that contract because the last time they reno'd an unproven backup to give him the Big Payday partway through the season, it just worked so well

He signed a deal which pretty much gaurantees that he cashes in either next year or the year after if he plays well, barring injury of course. If he is good, he will get paid, either by the Bills next year or another team in FA in 2017.

This^^^. The third year voids if he starts 50% of a season either this year or next. If he was interested in writing a real (and balanced) story, that would have found its way into the article.

I feel like your taking a throwaway blurb a bit too serious. This wasn't an in depth article, simply a mention that he's low paid (compared to even backups) and that he might be thinking that (or hearing about it).

It wasn't an in depth look at the details of his contract.

Or what? Sit out? LOL! Dumbest idea ever. No surprise it came from Florio.

exactly. they'd insert EJ w/o question

not that I read Florio much but ....

does he ever have an "in depth article"?

Nope. Not his job. He's just throwing out hot takes, and compiling local reporters work. He's doing 20+ "articles" a day. Obviously not doing in depth investigative pieces.

That our starter is low paid is a fair hot take.
