Could playing another -- one who was the focus of "the trial of the century" -- win him further accolades? The actor has been cast as O.J. Simpson in the new FX anthology miniseries "American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson," the network announced. Gooding won the Academy Award for best actor in a supporting role in 1996 for his performance as wide receiver Rod Tidwell in the film "Jerry Maguire." Looking for a movie on netflix last night my wife wanted a "stupid funny movie" when scrolling through and past naked gun I said that fits what she is looking for. Cue the opening credits and she say OJ Simpson? The guy that killed his wife?! Wasn't he a football player or something? Wait didn't he play for the Bills?! NFL network did a segment a few years ago on the top ten best rushing seasons of all time, and Juice wasn't even there.
