I must have missed this last night, but apparently Al Michaels said that Trump told him that he put in a $1 Billion cash offer with no contingencies and said he would cut them a check on the spot. I'm going to go out a limb and say that is going to be his best offer. Interesting though if it came direct from Trump to Michaels. That's the first confirmed dollar amount we have heard of as far as I know, everything else has been speculation and rumors

thats d news that was reported last week. Let's not give Al credit here, he slobbers all over himself enough as it is.

I just read John Kryk's article. Again, kudos to him for being so informative.

One thing that he re-confirmed is that the Pegulas' bid was $1.3B:

"Two sources said Pegula indeed bid about $1.3 billion."

Presuming that is correct (and I have no reason to disbelieve John Kryk who appears to be plugged in), Morgan Stanley already has a bid on the table that exceeds what I recall Stephen Ross paid for the Dolphins AND their stadium.

Morgan Stanley should declare the Pegulas the winning bidders and let them move on to the NFL approval process. This is ridiculous. JBJ and his group should be out. Stick a fork in their bid.

probably already answered, but that isn't MS's call. The trust is calling the shots if I understand the process correctly.

My wife will think I am nuts

ummmmm, Bill, I hate to be the one to break this to you, but...

As FYI, almost all of Jerry Jones' net worth is the Cowboys and assets associated with the Cowboys. He poured virtually every $ he had to buy team.

I's about 70% of his net worth, yeah. Cowboys are estimated at $2.3B according to Forbes, while they estimate Jones' net worth at $3.1B.

I wonder what would happen if his wife really did leave him and was entitled to half? How would they split that up? Would she get half of the team? Any precedent for this type of situation? That would be great if he had to sell the team. He's such a snake

Jones isn't a bad dude from what I understand. He's a shrewd businessman, but a bad guy? Not from what I've heard. I have a few friends that have met with him both for business and leisure, and they all said he was tough business-wise, but a perfectly nice guy.

As for your question, I think he would be in serious trouble given that they've been together since the 60's. Although we'll see what comes of it I suppose...

I have no first-hand knowledge of Jerruh but he just comes off as kind of an egotistical dirtbag. Probably fun to hang out with at the bar (as we have seen) but you wouldn't want to be close friends with someone like that. He would sell his soul to make a couple of bucks. And of course I didn't like his comments about the Bills in Toronto nor the 2 times they beat us in the Super Bowl. It all adds up to me not liking him haha. But you have to respect how he turned the Cowboys franchise around. They have been a mediocre team for years but he has somehow kept them relevant.

That situation with the former owner of the Dodgers just came to mind. Didn't he have to sell the team because his wife divorced him? That would be funny if Jerry had to sell and went bye bye

Article about Jeffrey Gundlach (Buffalo native) in today's Financial Times:

http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/473f9d52-1d40-11e4-8b03-00144feabdc0.html

It's a pay subscription site, but there is one paragraph relating to the Bills:

Mr Gundlach has agreed to squeeze an interview in before a trip to New York state, where he is circling the auction of his hometown American football team, the Buffalo Bills, hoping to become a minority investor and ensure it stays in the down-at-heel city on the US side of Niagara Falls.

Hmm that's interesting. Maybe that's why Golisano hasn't bid yet. Maybe Gundlach and others will join up with him

The Cowboys will always be relevant; Jerrah has nothing to do with that. He lucked into Jimmy Johnson and the Herschel Walker trade, and hasn't done crap since other than build a monument to excess.

Will Forbes reevaluate all NFL teams once the sale of the Bills is completed? I would think that they'd do that using the Bills as the lower quartile guide and working their way up from there.

I'm pretty sure they do it on an annual basis, so short answer is yes, but not in direct relation to the sale of the Bills.

Would put Gundlach, who is much younger than Golisano (55 years old), in prime position to own the team later. Just speculating but could be a nice fallback if Pegula somehow doesn't work out.
