I say this with a staunch record of heterosexuality (not that there's anything wrong with that).

I regularly listen to the Grease soundtrack. i sing along in the car, and Greased Lightning is a regular on my my jogging mix.

Is this the "Guilty Pleasures" thread?? :D I too must announce my heterosexuality but lean heavily toward the Broadway show recordings of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat", "Damn Yankees", "Guys and Dolls" and "Cats".

As far as movie soundtracks..."The Last of the Mohicans" has an incredible score that really makes you feel the energy of the film. I would add "Bull Durham" as another good soundtrack.

gonna have to give "i am sam" a listen. i've heard the sarah mclachlan "blackbird" cover and love it but not heard any of the others as far as i know.saw "the master" about scientology and a WWII vet recently. great soundtrack, very weird movie that i can't really recommend. the sound track is interesting as it's period from post war with cuts from singers like ella fitzgerald but then a lot of stuff written and produced by one of the guys from radiohead.

Box of Moonlight has a cool soundtrack...

Mexican Radio - Wall Of Voodoo

Red Right Hand - Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds

Blues Before Sunrise - Elmore James

Big Black Sky - Chaser

Too Much Tequila - The Champs

Carioca - The Fireballs

Wayward Nile - The Chantays

Lost Time Blues - The Chrome Cranks

Wheels Over Me - Die Haut

Gun Control - Tom Dicillo

And it's delivered in a cool way. The main character (John Turturro) rents a car and there's a randon mix tape left in there. The weird songs kind of guide him on his journey through the movie.

The Wedding Singer

I know it's popular to hate every Adam Sandler movie, but as a 1980 high school graduate, The Wedding Singer was freaking hysterical. The "Love Stinks" scene was great, especially when he starts pointing out people, including sideburns lady and "pretty much everyone at table 9."

Oh, and great soundtracks include Big Night, Little Mermaid, Leaving Las Vegas and Heaven's Prisoners.

Damnit, you beat me to it! I was just listening to "The Wind" today and all I can picture is Penny Lane dancing around the gym by herself.

Dazed and Confused and Forrest Gump have to be honorable mentions as well.
