I disagree. Bianca clearly does not fit society's traditional definition of beautiful. I thought it was an adroit and honest statement.

True. Sad, but true.

I don't put too much stake in traditions that aren't mine tho'.

Being part of society is keeping the peace by not saying out loud everything that passes through your head.

I disagree with your disagreement. :) The point of the Yahoo author's article was to castigate a radio talk show host for making a statement that Mrs. Wilfork would find offensive and hurtful. He then goes on to say that she doesn't meet the standard of beauty most men find attractive. Do you honestly think she feels better after reading that?? I say no.

Sorry but you shouldn't get in trouble for telling the truth. Its his opinion and its accurate. Last time I checked Mrs.Wilfork is a grown women she can handle it.

Then the radio host and Yahoo author are both OK with their comments. They both said the same thing...one was more brazen than the other.

Yeah, as long as what you are saying is true you should be allowed to say what you feel. The term the brutal truth is ridiculous to me.

That kind of thinking could change if the shoe is on the other foot...I mean to say if someone says something derogatory about your own wife, mom, gerbil or Barbie Doll collection :)

I think she shifted from "don't give a rat's A" to "don't give a rat's keister" after reading that, judging by her response. Seems well-grounded (and a hoot).

I'm sure she's heard a bunch of names before and so has Vince. I expect it's mostly the fact that it came from a former team 'brother' who should know better than to dis off a man's family that flipped Vince's fork.

One just flat called her ugly. It's offensive and dumb. It was a question he shouldn't have answered behind closed doors yet alone in public, frankly. The old nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all.

One said that despite not fitting archetypes, that she was beautiful to those who had an opinion that mattered. Ultimately- Very few of us are walking runways in our spare time - ill take knowing the person I love liking my look.

It might not make her day hearing the latter, but there's a wide gap between those.

I am not saying that Wilfork or his wife don't have the right to be upset but to feign outrage on their behalf for someone telling the truth is ridiculous. I wouldn't want strangers outraged about a person saying a truthful/hurtful statement about my family provided what they said was true and not said in an attempt at humor.

Who determines what truth is? My dog may be butt ugly - but if I find him handsome, then there is no truth in beauty....to borrow a cliche...it's in the eye of the beholder. So if your premise is that a person should say what they want without backlash as long as it's true, it wouldn't apply in this case. I still feel that both the radio host and author should keep their yaps shut.

Are you for real? I think your folks should let you grow up some before you're allowed to wander about unescorted, especially on the Internet

1) People get in trouble for "telling the truth" all the time. Most of us figgur this out at age 5 when we let out the F-bomb, Mom asks where we heard that, and we realize that "From Dad", while true, is probably not a good tactical response. Does the acronym "CLM"** have meaning to you?

2) Opinions are opinions. Facts are facts. People are entitled to opinions, but they are not properly described as either "truth" or "accurate". Calling someone "ugly" is not a fact and will never be a fact. It's an opinion.

3) Classy adults realize there's a line where expressing their opinions is pointlessly hurtful to others and should be stowed. Classless jerks just mouth off.

4) The fact that Wilfork's wife is a grown woman with what appears to be a decent head on her shoulders and can probably "handle" the behavior of a classless jerk, does not justify the jerky behavior, transform the jerk's opinion into a fact, or entitle him to take shots at a former teammate's family.

**Career Limiting Move, often achieved by succumbing to the overwhelming impulse to mouth tactless truths in a business setting

I bet you're just a hoot in a social setting.

I don't want this thread to distract us from our mutual hatred of Vince wilfork.

Or the fact that both Bianca and his wife are overweight, and this is a major issue across this country. There is great irony that they sponsor diabetes research.

I no longer feel sorry for Ted Johnson. Calling a woman ugly (unless she's a real POS) is unforgivable.

Well, when you got nothing to say, you got to say something... right?

I've made fun of Bianca and her burly build, but I'd never call her ugly.

Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder... Take Giselle Bunchen for example. -I think she's OK, but NOT smokin' hot like alot of people seem to think... Same with Kate Upton. -I'd hit that with ZERO hesitation (If I was single and had an opportunity) But there's definitely stuff wrong with her. (in my eyes) Her hips are a bit to narrow... Legs too skinny... etc..

Every woman brings something interesting to the table... The fact that someone does or does not live up to your "ideal" hardly makes their ugliness OR attractiveness official.

Back to OT. Calling someones wife, a former teammate no less, ugly, is bad judgement at its finest and a low blow. Shes not my type but I know plenty of people who are married to or dating someone I cant sit in a room alone with. But if they are happy, good for them
