Keep your head up - Andy Grammer

"Keep Your Head Up"

I've been waiting on the sunset

Bills on my mindset

I can't deny they're getting high

Higher than my income

Incomes bread crumbs

I've been trying to survive

The glow that the sun gets

Right around sunset

Helps me realize

This is just a journey

Drop your worries

You are gonna turn out fine.

Oh, you turn out fine.

Fine, oh, you turn out fine.

But you gotta keep your head up, oh,

And you can let your hair down, eh. (and run the Ball)

You gotta keep your head up, oh,

And you can let your hair down, eh.

I know it's hard, no it's hard,

To remember sometimes,

But you gotta keep your head up, oh,

And you can let your hair down, eh.

I've got my hands in my pockets,

Kicking these rocks. (footballs)

It's kinda hard to watch this life go by. (season)

I'm buying into skeptics, (isn't everyone a skeptic now)

Skeptics mess with, the confidence in my eyes

I'm seeing all the angles, starts to get tangled

I start to compromise

My life and the purpose.

Is it all worth it?

Am I gonna turn out fine?

Oh, you'll turn out fine.

Fine, oh, you'll turn out fine.

But you gotta keep your head up, oh,

And you can let your hair down, eh.

You gotta keep your head up, oh,

And you can let your hair down, eh.

I know it's hard, no it's hard,

To remember sometimes,

But you gotta keep your head up, oh,

And you can let your hair down, eh.

Only rainbows after rain

The sun will always come again. (gotta win at some point)

It's a circle, circling,

Around again, it comes around again. (Superbowl)

I said,

Only rainbows after rain

The sun will always come again.

It's a circle, circling,

Around again, it comes around,

But you gotta keep your head up, oh,

And you can let your hair down, eh.

You gotta keep your head up, oh,

And you can let your hair down, eh.

I know it's hard, no it's hard

To remember sometimes,

But you gotta keep your head up, oh,

And you can let your hair down, eh.

Keep your head up, oh,

And you can let your hair down, eh.

Keep your head up, oh,

And you can let your hair down, eh.

Keep your head up, oh,

And you can let your hair down.

I said oooh

"Running Down a Dream" - Petty

Sorry, Chan called and he asked me to change it to

"Passing Down a Dream"

.

hahaha.

Mine are:

Linkin Park: Burn it All Down.

The cycle repeated,

As explosions broke in the sky,

All that I needed,

Was the one thing I couldn't find,

And you were there at the turn,

Waiting to let me know,

Chorus:

We're building it up,

To break it back down

We're building it up,

To burn it down

We can't wait,

To burn it to the ground.

The colors conflicted,

As the flames climbed into the clouds.

I wanted to fix this,

But couldn't stop from tearing it down.

And you were there at the turn,

Caught in the burning glow.

And I was there at the turn,

Waiting to let you know.

[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsfreak.com/l/linkin+park/burn+it+down_21011751.html ]

We're building it up,

To break it back down

We're building it up,

To burn it down

We can't wait,

To burn it to the ground.

You told me yes

You held me high

And I believed,

When you told that lie.

I played solider,

You played king,

And struck me down,

When I kissed that ring.

You lost that right,

To hold that crown,

I built you up,

But you let me down.

So when you fall,

I'll take my turn,

And fan the flames,

As your blazes burn.

And you were there at the turn,

Waiting to let me know.

We're building it up,

To break it back down,

We're building it up,

To burn it down,

[We can't wait,

To burn it to the ground.

So when you fall,

I'll take my turn,

And fan the flames,

As your blazes burn. x2

We can't wait,

To burn it to the ground...

Couple more from NIN, the man has a way with expressing agony

"Happiness In Slavery"

slave screams he thinks he knows what he wants

slave screams thinks he has something to say

slave screams he hears but doesn't want to listen

slave screams he's being beat into submission

don't open your eyes you won't like what you see

the devils of truth steal the souls of the free

don't open your eyes take it from me

I have found

you can find

happiness in slavery

slave screams he spends his life learning conformity

slave screams he claims he has his own identity

slave screams he's going to cause the system to fall

slave screams but he's glad to be chained to that wall

don't open your eyes you won't like what you see

the blind have been blessed with security

don't open your eyes take it from me

I have found

you can find

happiness in slavery

I don't know what I am I don't know where I've been

human junk just words and so much skin

stick my hands through the cage of this endless routine

just some flesh caught in this big broken machine

"Gave Up"

perfect little dream the kind that hurts the most

forgot how it feels well almost

no one to blame always the same

open my eyes wake up in flames

it took you to make me realize

it took you to make me realize

it took you to make me realize

it took you to make me see the light

smashed up my sanity

smashed up my integrity

smashed up what i believed in

smashed up what's left of me

smashed up my everything

smashed up all that was true

gonna smash myself to pieces

i don't know what else to do

covered in hope and vaseline

still cannot fix this broken machine

watching the hole it used to be mine

just watching it burn in my steady systematic decline

of the trust i will betray

give it to me i throw it away

after everything i've done i hate myself for what i've become

i tried

i gave up

throw it away

wake the dead- comeback kid

This is our city of the dead

Another life holds it's weary head

We hope, we try, we live, survive

Counting days, trying to get by

Waiting for the calling

Anticipation in the air

We hope and dream of difference

City sleeping, unaware

Break the silence, wake the dead

Running through these streets alone

I'll kick and scream, let's break the hold

'cause I swear, and this won't render useless

I promise you, we've come this far

And I'm not stopping, I'm not stopping now

I'm not hiding in shadows

Wake up, Send out this message, it's clear

You said, you said, you said

This time was gonna be different

Wake up the dead

Coming alive, something stirs inside

This isn't over yet

Shake off the dirt

Swallow regret

Stop living under the weight

Living under the weight of regret

Your regrets

Don't lose hope

Don't let it happen to you

Don't lose hope

Which side are you gonna choose?

'cause I believe, I believe it's in you. Rise!

We said, we said, we said

This time was gonna be different

Wake up the dead

Actually, I have found the absolute perfect song for this franchise....its called "Magnificent Loser" by John Voorhees. A buddy of mine had sent this to me after the legendary collapse of the 5-1 start under Trentative at the end of the season. You have to listen to it, should be the teams theme song...for real. Its about not being good at anything so be great at losing :w00t:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZ1d_ELHLf0

I was once the sorest of sore losers

Faced defeat with anger and with shame

Then one day I woke to my good senses

Thankfully I’ve never been the same

I’ve learned to smile with wild abandon

When I shake the consolation hand

I can say “Good game!” with heartfelt pleasure

As if losing was the very thing I’d planned

I’m the king of all good sports

It’s a victory of sorts to say that

I’m a magnificent loser

And I can take embarrassment with glee

I’m a magnificent loser

And now everybody wants to play with me

Play with me

Everybody wants to play with me

Before I came to my conversion

Life was never like I thought it should

Couldn’t bear the smallest of small failures

And on top of that, I wasn’t very good

Now that I’ve learned to be a loser

I have no fear of better men

I can look the victor in the eyeball

And ask him ” Do you want to play again?”

I’m the king of all good sports

It’s a victory of sorts to say that

I’m a magnificent loser

And no one has more grace in their defeat

I’m a magnificent loser

I guess I’ve got a knack for getting beat

Getting beat

I guess I’ve got a knack for getting beat

If he makes you happier, of course you have to go

On that point I know we both agree

I can think of nothing that would bring a warmer glow

Than to think of you as happier than me

Happier than me

So when life brings its disappointments

No one will know I feel a thing

I’ll just keep laughing like a madman

I’ll throw my shoulders back and then I’ll sing

I’m the king of all good sports

It’s a victory of sorts to say that

I’m a magnificent loser

And I can take embarrassment with glee

I’m a magnificent loser

And now everybody wants to play with me

A magnificent loser

And I can take my downfalls with a grin

I’m a magnificent loser

And I don’t know what I’d do if I should win

I won’t win

But I don’t know what I’d do

I don’t know what I’d do if I should win

This Town -Sinatra

This town is a lonely town

Not the only town like-a this town

This town is a make-you town

Or a break-you-town and bring-you-down town

This town is a quiet town

Or a riot town like this town

This town is a love-you town

And a shove-you-down and push-you-'round town

This town is an all-right town

For an uptight town like-a this town

This town, it's a use-you town

An abuse-you town until-you're-down town

This town is a losin' town

It's a miserable town

It's a nowhere town

And I am leavin' this town

You better believe that I'm leavin' this town

Man, it could never be uptown

It's bound to be downtown

This town, bye-bye

Bye, bye, bye, bye, bye-bye

Epic- Faith no More

Can you feel it ,see it, hear it today?

If you can't, then it doesn't matter anyway

You will never understand it 'cause it happens too fast

And it feels so good, it's like walking on glass

It's so cool, it's so hip, it's alright

It's so groovy, it's outta sight

You can touch it, smell it, taste it so sweet

But it makes no difference 'cause it knocks you off your feet

You want it all but you can't have it

It's cryin', bleedin', lying on the floor

So you lay down on it and you do it some more

You've got to share it, so you dare it

Then you bare it and you tear it

You want it all but you can't have it

It's in your face but you can't grab it

It's alive, afraid, a lie, a sin

It's magit, it's tragic, it's a loss, it's a win

It's dark, it's moist, it's a bitter pain

It's sad it happened and it's a shame

You want it all but you can't have it

It's in your face but you can't grab it

What is it?

It's it

What is it?...
