He is not a socialist.

Without reading--how is the notion of "shared prosperity" "socialist" but not also the exact same principle of "trickle-down?"

Because under trickle down you earn for it.

Under Obama's plan he decides how much to take and who get's it. (welfare, housing bailout, auto bailout, Solyndra).

Nice try at "playing dumb"

Obama - “A new vision of an America in which prosperity is shared."

Ryan - "We promise equal opportunity, not equal outcomes"…

Thank you Mr. President for making it a clear choice for Americans in November,

Which vision will win ?

Trickle down to me means when someone opens or expands their operation for example, several people that work benefit. Tradesmen that help build a new building or workers that make new equipment. People that have to be hired to make the business work. To me this is trickle down. Now what liberals don't like is that the guy at the top funding this expansion just might make even more money. Barry's "sharing in the prosperity" entails him taxing the **** out of that guy and even taxing the tradesmen and employees more to "share" aka redistribute wealth to the takers and parasites. Now it this isn't socialsim what is it? Marxism? Whatever ism it is doesn't matter. It still sucks and retards progress, innovation and society as a whole.

I know what it isn't. It isn't the American dream.

BS. Nobody really wants to hire people, who wants the personnel headache? It it may be a necessary headache at times of growth but, if the business expands and they can get off hiring the bare minimum IF ANY... They will.

Who wants a trickle? More times than not, that trickle turns into nothing as business (technology, transportation, etc..) gets more efficient.

To me, that reality doesn't sound like too much sharing. Who wants to share?

Obama's.

I'm more concerned with finding out his exact definition of "prosperity" than I am him wanting it shared.

Prosperity is shared, to me, means one thing...that as a natural born American, white, middle class (to many of Obama's people, "wealthy"), heterosexual Christian male, Im at the BOTTOM of the list of who gets a piece of that "shared" pie.

Back in the boomtime of Wall Street a few years ago, it was widely reported that even the most basic skilled craftsmen in NYC had a backlog of work, thanks to all those "evil" rich people on Wall Street who were making bank and as a result, hiring those craftsmen to remodel their homes. Here on Long Island, a buddy of mine who sells beer to resteraunts, and knows every food joint in Nassau County says that as Wall Street and the economy goes, so goes the food and beverage business.

"Turns into nothing?" Hardly. This is not rocket science.

STFU, cracka, and eat your peas.

PS: There was a small slice of NoCal drooling over all the "trickle down" coming from the Facebook IPO. I recently had a slab leak at my house and had to have the floors and walls torn up/out and replaced, repaired and re-painted. The line of contractors begging for the work was ridiculous.

Which is true. The service sector can't grow limitless. How many tradesman & restaurant's can an economy have before it is over-saturated?

Don't worry... As Albert Hammond once said: "It never rains in Southern California." :nana:

That is the prevailing view of all the cynics in the balcony, fortunately for me, I don't think that way.

As to Mr. Obama's definition of prosperity, even he could not answer your query, since his definition keeps changing.....(or evolving)

Prosperity of course is defined personally. Unfortunately, everybody is gonna cry poor mouth. Who the heck is honest anymore? The good thing about this (if Barry gets his way) is you wouldn't have loudmouths acting like bigshots on the internet... That could be a big liability in Barry's SocializedLand. :D

Ha, right. And by "earn" you mean, dependent on the charity of one's corporate over lords.

But this entire conversation is moot. Obama is liar who reneges on his promises. So we have nothing to worry about.

Your example is sound, but it's very specific to NYC and the surrounding areas--areas that benefit from (hands down) the most lucrative endeavors in America.

So, while true in principal, your example is hardly an illustration of how America works.

Natural born? As in your folks didn't use robots during your conception? Or do you mean your mom didn't use drugs when she delivered you?

The white, middle class, Christain males of this nation have been held down long enough! It's time for them to get their fair shake!

So what you're really saying is the opposite of this? That white, middle class males have had it good for so long it's time for their beat down?
