Couple that with the fact that he caused a pick, blew it big time on the Hail Mary and they already have Aaron Gonzalez and we may be looking at a young star on the trading block. We also know the Pats love stockpiling future picks. Gronk is from Buffalo. Do you think we'd give a 2nd plus a 2013 2nd? I say patience. This was pretty amazing given the fact that it was pretty apparent New England downplayed his injury. He won't be going anywhere. (as evidenced by Troup's later issues in the NFL!) You all can apologize to me now for thinking I made up the fact that he had a back issue in college I will accept either apologies, or donations of Beer for use at next Bills game  This pick is particularly bad when you consider that Terrance Cody, from Alabama, was avaialble and was the starting NT for the Ravens 2nd ranked D in 2011. Other quality DT's were also avaialble as well. Imagine a line of Williams, Cody, Dearus and Kyle Williams/new draft pick/Edwards, etc. Line would be fantastic. Thanks for responding.   The second link of course doesn't address any back issues… just your point about Troup being overvalued by the Bills… which I wasn't arguing.  As for the issue at hand, I'd Googled Troup and his back injury on several occasions and had not found anything stating he had a pre-existing back condition.  However your first link from the Buffalo News IS straight from the horse's mouth… Troup say he "had the disc problem going back to college."  The linked Buffalo News article in which he says this is dated less than one month ago so it's a VERY recent revelation.  As AP mentioned upthread, it's odd that there was never anything written before, during, or after the draft about his back.  I'll apologize a bit but as I said earlier, I'd raised this issue before (as had others) and you had not responded… so what are people to think?  Sorry for the lukewarm apology but kudos for re-visiting this topic. They just make a higher % of good decisions than the Buffalos and Clevelands. Â That said(sounds Seinfeldish)-the non-drafting of Gronk in itself is nothing to beat the Bills organization up about. Very true.However, a lot of good decision making went into having that good team and that stockpile of choices.-So one should give the Pats the benefit of the doubt that it wasn't complete luck on their part that Gronk turned out to be a great player.
