mrags
FWIW, the Bills organization provide jobs to people to clean up the lots. So I say throw away more crap and support underprivaledged people working. And that goes the same for all the beer cans and bottles. There are countless homeless people or families that count on those returns for cash. I say dump all your crap and help out the homeless!

JDHILL
what's your problem? Is this your first game? And yes some of us do leave our bottles for certain people that clean the lots. I don't park on RWS property but park in a nearby lot. We always pile our bottles up and leave them for the guy we call the "warrior". We usually feed him too. I don't know if this qualifies as helping the homeless but it is definitely realizing that not everybody is in the same situation and trying to treat people with respect. Back in the mid 80's when NY first started doing returns, I'd head down to the state park by my parents house early in the morning before the park crew would clean out the garbage cans and pick cans/bottles. Usually made about $15 each day on the weekends, which was a lot of money for a couple hours work to this teenager.

The Tomcat
Whenever I go past the stadium a few hours after the games it looks like a hell hole of trash. Its embarrassing really. I'm not against leaving your cans and bottles but it really is sad.

I always think of the commercial in the 70's when the Indian has a tear coming down his face from all the trash on the side of the road. I'm not against leaving your cans and bottles but it really is sad. Every July, they have a fireworks show at a local park near my home and the amount of trash the next morning is astounding. What is really sad is that there are trash cans everywhere, yet you see garbage strewn on the ground and the cans are practically empty. My point is that this unfortunately happens everywhere. I have been to many games around the league and you see the same thing at other venues. At the Ralph, they could certainly use more garbage cans, but then again based upon my example above, would people actually use them. We also used to have a small fire after the game and burned much of the paper trash that was left around where we parked. With the lots closing at 6PM, no more fire. Parkers would put trash in cans and than somebody would put hot coals in them. Cans were also turned in to burn barrels when the weather turned cooler. Plastic barrels were even used as burn barrels. Dumb. Anyone notice how the grass around the grounds of the Ralph look like it has not been cut for a couple of weeks?

Also in talking with them they routinely make hundreds and one guy claimed 2000 from one game. A lot of ppl do make piles to make it easy and we always gave food/shots/beer to whomever collected the cans. Littering bothers me too but more in a side of the road way. tonyd19
Yea, why pick up after yourselves when somebody else is paid too? So far the original poster has been attacked as a redneck and a racist (for some stupid reason). I can't believe all the people here making excuses for why they can't have enough pride in their city and themsleves to actually put trash in a trash can? (Inside or outside the stadium) If you are leaving your trash anywhere, your not helping the needy, your not providing job security and you are not serving some higher order of social equality. Your just a filthy f*cking entitled slob who does not care about anyone or anything around you. It speaks greatly to your lack of character and the lack of pride you have regarding yourself, your neighbors and your community. I live almost 3,000 miles away form Buffalo and cannot comment on the actual trash at the stadium, but the responses here to what seems to be a legitimate grip are astounding. whateverdude
They must be a lot of rich Bills fans out there to just leave thousands of dollars in the parking lot each season. I should not hear any complaints when they raise tickets prices. You’re lucky Ralph Wilson does not walk the parking lots after a game. You tailgaters got more than enough disposable income to absorb it and if I were Ralph I’d be jacking the price of tickets and parking right up your butts. I would mind it so much if the tailgaters would throw out the garbage and neatly stack up their cans for other to take, but most do not. It’s like the tailgater was brought up in a barn just like pigs wallowing around in their own slop waiting for someone else to clean up after them. Have a little more respect for yourself and others! Now I truly know the phrase “the ugly American”. Edited October 11, 2010 by whateverdude
NaPolian8693
You pay $25 to park in the stadium lot, and part of what you are paying for is the right to be messy and act like a cave man. That is part of the fun of tailgating. Dirty stadium lots provide jobs to people on the clean up crews. No tailgate trash means people losing jobs. Also, very poor people can earn some extra cash for themselves by filling their shopping carts with trash. Sometimes I pile my empties up to make it easier for the homeless. Sometimes I just crush the cans, though, because I don't care that much. The reality is that when you have that many people going to an event, you are going to have trash and need clean up crews. It's the same thing as cleaning up after a concert. Heck, you even have to clean up a movie theater after every showing because people leave trash around. That's life. Tailgating is no different. Just Jack
Part of the regulationas on the Bills webpage regarding parking is that everyone is expected to bag their tailgate garbage and place it in the dumpsters (I'm on the road and can't look up the exact wording right now). Now, with that being said, they could provide bags when you enter the lot to those who want them.

whateverdude
While I’m at it I may as well get a few more things off my chest. I don’t mind the drinking and getting loud as long as it’s done responsibly and respectably but the Spring Break atmosphere I could do without, unlike most of you tailgaters who act like they just walked off a Girls Gone Wild video. Also, as if the all the drunken fools falling over their seats spilling their beer and nacho cheese on everyone was not enough, I could never imagine taking my 8 and 10 year old nieces to the game for fear that they might get an ear full of foul nasty language. My nieces would have loved to see the cheerleaders but I would never expose them to the fans yelling down to the Jills “dance for me whores”. Also, half the stadium cheering for the girl fight that started up in the stands
