Is that because there isn't one, or that it's TBD? There is no game scheduled Sunday night because the NFL is waiting to pick the most compelling one. There is no Monday night game. Philly/dallas is clearly the better game, but people do love watching "history." I remember when Mark mcGuire was about to break the single season home run record thos game were being shown nationally. casual fans love that kind of stuff. However a team just went 16-0 a couple years ago--the novelty is dead. I say no flex. Besides, I don't want the whole country watching the Bills. Times are tough; America doesn't need that. The Sunday night game (I believe) was Tennessee-Indy. NBC is permitted to wait until the Monday or Tuesday before that game to pick which one they wanted, whereas they have to announce the other flex games 12 days in advance. This year's Bills team is like that guy in "The Cooler". Whenever they show up on a football field, they suck the life out of the entire atmsophere - Buffalo players, opposing players, and fans alike. Even Gus Johnson is calm. CBS and Fox have first rights on each of the day games and can protect a certain number of games. NBC will take what they feel is the best game out of what's left unprotected. Not sure if that's really a rule or a common-sense interpretation of why it might be chosen so late. NFL Flexible Scheduling NFL Flexible Scheduling 101 Begins Sunday of Week 11 In effect during Weeks 11-17 Only Sunday afternoon games are subject to being moved into the Sunday night window. The game that has been tentatively scheduled for Sunday night during flex weeks will be listed at 8:15 p.m. ET. The majority of games on Sundays will be listed at 1:00 p.m. ET during flex weeks except for games played in Pacific or Mountain Time zones which will be listed at 4:05 or 4:15 p.m. ET. No impact on Thursday, Saturday or Monday night games. The NFL will decide (after consultation with CBS, FOX, NBC) and announce as early as possible the game being played at 8:15 p.m. ET. The announcement will come no later than 12 days prior to the game. The NFL may also announce games moving to 4:05 p.m. ET and 4:15 p.m. ET. Week 17 start time changes could be decided on 6 days notice to ensure a game with playoff implications. The NBC Sunday night time slot in "flex" weeks will list the game that has been tentatively scheduled for Sunday night. Fans and ticket holders must be aware that NFL games in flex weeks are subject to change 12 days in advance (6 days in Week 17) and should plan accordingly. NFL schedules all games.
