  1. Gabe Northern once coming out of the Galleria Mall....he was near an entrance talking to some people...Jamie Nails was heading out of McKinley Mall once while I was heading in wearing Bills gear...gave each other a head nod...Adam Lingner a couple of times at Jills appearances...at the second one, after the Jills left, he and I shot the **** for a little while. Talked to Josh Stamer and Terrence McGee at Jills Congratulatory Party in 07
  2. They won't announce that for several months still...but it's almost always 15 days prior to the 1st preseason game so figure somewhere around July 26-27 for the start of camp
  3. Personlly, I root for ex-Bills to do well around the league...except when they're playing us, of course And of course Buffalo-hater McGahee and fat lazy Jason Peters are the exceptions to the rule Don Beebe..not Gale Gilbert...Gilbert is the only player in history to have 5 consecutive AFC titles after going with the Chargers in 94
  4. WGR needs to give Sal a bigger role on the station, simple as that He was talking about Bulldog not being funny...Greg Bauch is the producer
  5. The Jills have been putting on a dance performance at 11:30 before each regular season game the last two years in Lot C
  6. I really have no sympathy for smokers...my former season ticket partner quit going to games because of them designating a specified smoking area in 2006 but they supposedly weren't clear on where it was (that was his reasoning for quitting, anyway)..still owes me $2K for several years of season tix, anyway...it's a disgusting habit that harms the people around you in addition to yourself...that being said, as much as I hate smoking, I thought removing the smoking areas this year was going overboard. As far as the comparisons to drinking, one thing people haven't brought up is the fact that you can have a few beers without getting drunk or harming anyone, yourself included. Drinking in moderation harms no one....smoking, in any amount, is harmful to everyone
  7. ugggh...the "Just Give It To Them" game was the first evidence that the Pats* are cheaters...before Belichick The Jefferson catch was clearly short and out of bounds watching in real time...when a pair of nearby officials give it to him anyway, it's definitely a case where the officials weren't doing their jobs in an honest manner...that play was the reason Ralph voted in favor of instant replay in 99. The Hail Mary pass interference call, called on Henry Jones by Terry MacAuley, now a referee, was ridiculous...Besides the fact that there's always tons of jostling around on a Hail Mary play, Jones probably interfered the least out of all the players going for the ball. Thomas Smith was the player who was most interfered with. To this day, I don't trust the Pats* at all as long as Robert Kraft owns them and I get anxious anytime we have MacAuley or Walt Coleman (the referee for that game) as the referee for one of our games.
  8. One thing to warn you about...once you tailgate at the Pinto, you'll be kicking yourself for waiting so long ;-)
  9. non-issue,IMO..went in for medication...something tells me he wouldn't need to go to the stadium for some Advil if all he was doing is nursing a hangover
  10. They don't even get that...they get appearance fees for some appearances, commission on the calendars they sell, and some perks like discounts or free gym memberships from some of their sponsors...all they get from the Bills is 1 ticket per game
  11. it's a typical reaction...he probably asked one out, got turned down, and now he retaliates against all of them....but he'll be the 1st one stuttering in excitement if one of them even looks at him
  12. He still should've found out before it went public
  13. when the Bills let Thurman, Andre, and Bruce go...Thurman found out via the ESPN ticker...well, the Bills just waived Ed Wang from IR...and I'm the one who told him before the Bills said anything to him directly Ed's joking about the way he found out but that's pretty low....find out via Twitter
  14. He was too valuable to special teams is the only reason I ever heard..but yeah, he was a solid WR as well as shown in 95 when Reed was out for most of the season
  15. definitely...he and Ken Irvin were drafted in 95...in 95, Kerner was at nickel and in 96, Irvin got it...Kerner got it back in 97 and when T Smith left speculation was that Kerner would get the starting job. Unfortunately, the knee injury he suffered at the end of 97 was followed up with another more severe one to start 98 which ended his career. Speaking of him, Ken Irvin got a lot of flack for his play after Jeff Burris left. In 1998, Ken got the open RCB spot when Smith left for Chicago and while not a great CB, was pretty solid for a couple of seasons. Antoine Winfield was drafted in 99 and played at nickel most of the season until Irvin got hurt. Winfield was inserted into the starting lineup at RCB. The following season, when Burris was gone, rather than switch Winfield to LCB to take the open slot, they moved Irvin over to LCB where he had never played before in his entire career in Buffalo. Even before he became the starter at RCB, he always played at that position in camps with Kerner usually taking LCB and Irvin at RCB. His body wasn't accustomed to the switch...there were times I noticed, before he was benched for Clements, he hesitated coming out of his backpedal when defending a WR along the sidelines. He had, for 5 seasons, played on the right side of the field and came out of his backpedal turning to his right to keep step with the WR. In 2000, at LCB, he would start to turn right coming out of his backpedal sometimes which hurt his chances of keeping up with the WR. Other times, he started to turn right but then caught himself and turned left...but that hurt him even more and got him way out of position. Had the coaching staff had more foresight in his first 3 years and not kept him on one side of the field all the time, I think Irvin would be thought of more highly
  16. surprised to see Billy Shaw named a few times....he's enshrined in Canton I agree on Antowain Smith...had a very good rookie season....his running style changed in 98 and 99 under Bishop Harris for the worse but was getting better late in his last season here with a new RB coach John Holocek...his nickname in college was Nitschke...at Illinois, Nitschke's alma mater. Was hurt in 95, backed up Spielman in 96 and through 97 until Spielman got injured and he was a key piece to the puzzle when the Bills switched mid-week from a 3-4 to a 4-3 at MLB. When the team switched back to a 3-4 a few weeks into the 98 season to get Cowart onto the field as the MoLB, Holocek kept plugging up holes while Cowart got the accolades
  17. The writer was wrong on one point...remarking about the Fieldhouse...the festivities have been outside for several years...the Fieldhouse is used on Kid's Day by the Jills working with the Jr Jills As far as the balloon hats, they shouldn't have been allowed into the stadium but if they were going to give them out, they should've warned them beforehand that they wouldn't be allowed inside the stadium. As for the traffic inconvenience, the media reported on that traffic pattern change plenty in advance
  18. 3 right now...their younger brother Glenn is going to Kansas State as a WR
  19. Jasper has been switched to OL so now there are 2
  20. anyone who doesn't remember Andre isn't much of a fan...I can understand not having gotten to see him play live, but he was such a big part of a great era of Bills football, no Bills fan can ignore it
  21. They've been dating for several years the way they've talked. She wouldn't be able to anyway...no fraternization rule which is pretty much league-wide. Chris Cooley's (Redskins TE) had to quit the Redskins squad when they started dating. As far as the Jills getting $50 per game....I'm sure they'd love to find that out...the Jills haven't made a dime off of anything but calendar sales and appearance fees for at least the last decade and a half or so
